Isle of the Dead: What’s next for TWD’s Maggie and Negan?
It looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) of The Walking Dead will be surviving the eleventh and final season of the series. The fifth Walking Dead universe spinoff, titled, Isle of the Dead, will focus on the two in post-apocalyptic New York City.
The six-episode spinoff will be released sometime next year. Why will they be venturing to New York?
Why are they teaming up? What does a post-apocalyptic New York City even look like?
Perhaps the biggest question is, how did we get them from their status as of season 11 episode 9, to traveling and working together, hopefully on solid and trusting terms?
Why are Maggie and Negan teaming up in next year’s The Walking Dead spinoff Isle of the Dead?
While New York City will be the first time in a very long time any of the characters have ventured into a walker-infested city, why New York? Well, for those unfamiliar, there happens to be a CRM base located in New York.
The two-season spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond not only introduced viewers to larger surviving communities but to the ultimate bad guys, the Civic Republic, and more specifically the CRM. They are a militarized group that has been experimenting on walkers, often killing innocent people in the process and who may now be run by Jadis, formally Anne of The Walking Dead.
Are Maggie and Negan going there in the hopes of taking the CRM down? Or are they perhaps going to find a certain someone who has been missing since his rescue, that everyone else presumes is dead?
The spinoff announcement before the final season comes to a close is both a positive and negative choice as fans don’t have to worry about the fate of either character. However, that also means any deadly situation Negan and Maggie might find themselves in will automatically result in their survival.
For now, we can speculate what will happen and why while enjoying the final season of The Walking Dead.
