The most recent episode of The Walking Dead titled “The Lucky Ones” answered a lot of questions, specifically about the current status of the communities of Alexandria, The Hilltop, and Oceanside. While The Commonwealth’s priority was never a question, we don’t know why Lance Hornsby wants these communities to thrive.

Governor Pamela Milton is in charge of The Commonwealth, and yes, perhaps he feels threatened by her power. But is there more to it than that?

When another Walking Dead spinoff titled, Isle of the Dead, was announced, many began to wonder why and how Maggie and Negan will be teaming up and taking on a walker-infested New York City. Well from the looks of it, Maggie is losing allies left and right to The Commonwealth.

Yes, The Commonwealth can provide better living situations and protection but are they trustworthy? Maggie turned down a very appealing deal, leaving The Hilltop and Oceanside alone to fend for themselves while Alexandria will continue its rebuilding efforts.

Will Maggie and Negan have to work together again before The Walking Dead spinoff Isle of the Dead airs?

That leaves few Maggie can trust. So how does Negan fit into this?

From what we’ve seen in the trailer for season 11B, he’ll be meeting several other survivors. We have yet to meet them, but they will undoubtedly be outside of The Commonwealth’s grasp.

They can potentially become allies with Maggie in which she will need to seek Negan’s help again. It’s a stretch considering there are so many unknowns but all the same, Maggie will need all the help she can get that isn’t under The Commonwealth’s watchful eye.

As for why they venture to New York City? Well, the CRM is located in the same state.

Is it possible that Lance Hornsby or Governor Pamela Milton is in contact with the CRM? Maybe.

Personally, I’d believe between the two that Lance is the one contacting them. We never did get answers as to what he, Shira and others were doing the night Eugene caught them and found out Shira was never the Stephanie he spoke to on the radio.

We still don’t know where those missing people from The Commonwealth are either. Or who even left Connie and Kelly the list of names.

Could it be that Lance is working with the CRM? It’s very likely.

But until we see what Negan is up to and until we learn more about Lance Hornsby and The Commonwealth, this will all have to remain a theory.

Next. Who is The Commonwealth’s Mercer on AMC’s The Walking Dead?. dark
