Netflix Bridgerton season 2, episode 7 recap: Harmony
Queen Charlotte accuses Eloise Bridgerton of being Lady Whistledown while the Bridgertons and Sharmas try to recover from Anthony and Edwina’s canceled wedding. Bridgerton season 2 is wrapping up at a stunning pace with so much drama it can hardly be contained in episode 7 titled “Harmony”.
Bridgerton Season 2 Episode 7 recap – False Accusation
After reading the latest from Lady Whistledown, Queen Charlotte takes it upon herself to visit Eloise Bridgerton. Lucky for her, the family already left leaving just the two of them to talk.
Naturally Eloise cannot get a word in, and if she doesn’t agree to help the queen with the writings, she and her family will suffer. In complete panic, she tells Penelope what is going on.
Penelope is stuck unsure how to save her innocent friend without revealing herself. She seeks advice from Geneieve who simply suggests that she write something about Eloise.
Penelope doesn’t want to damage her friend’s reputation. Eloise rushes to tell Theo what is going on, but he already knows.
He is livid that he was dragged into this mess. As indecisive as Penelope appears to be, Eloise’s idea of just confessing pushes her to finally write something down.
What follows is damaging indeed. Up until this point, both the Bridgerton and Sharma family are social outcasts amongst the ton.
No one will acknowledge them. Adding to it, Anthony and Kate cannot be seen as anything more than social with each other.
The ton cannot know the real reason the wedding was called off. To try to remedy their situation, Lady Danbury and Lady Violet Bridgerton decide to throw a party.
They spare no expense however no one arrives. Both families decide to enjoy themselves anyway, including the youngest Bridgerton children, Hyacinth and Gregory.
After they dance and have fun, they notice the staff reading something. Lady Whistledown mentions Eloise’s unchaperoned visits with Theo as well as her questionable interests making the Bridgerton’s appear more scandalous than they actually are.
Writing so horridly about her best friend causes Penelope to cry and toss her writing feather into the fireplace. The mood of the party changes, as Edwina once again berates Kate.
Bridgerton Season 2 Episode 7 recap – Intimacy
Upset by her sister’s constant judgement, Kate flees outside to a well decorated pergola for solace. She hardly has a minute alone when Anthony arrives.
The two argue about their feelings when it becomes clear they truly can’t and don’t want to be away from each other. After all this time, they finally give in.
They spend a romantic night together under the pergola. When Anthony awakes the next morning, Kate is gone.
She returned to her room at Lady Danbury’s unable to stop thinking about the events that transpired the night before. While she and Anthony clearly enjoyed their time together, she has deep regret.
Ready to propose to Kate, Anthony arrives to speak with her but she is not in her room.
Bridgerton Season 2 Episode 7 recap – The Cliffhanger
Kate had fled, riding on her horse in the near blindly rain. Anthony rides on his horse and tries to catch up with her as they take the same path as the first time they met.
He calls out for her to stop but she refuses. Her horse stops from making the leap over thick hedges resulting in Kate falling off her horse and taking a hard hit to the head.
Anthony reaches her, seeing the blood and tries to wake her as the rain continues to drench them both.
Bridgerton Season 2 Episode 7 review
Anthony Bridgerton has come a long way since season 1. After everything that has transpired between him and Kate all season long, it has become clearly evident that he never loved Siena.
No, Kate is his first, true and only love. It’s a shame to watch them struggle to be together because of forces beyond their control.
Edwina has every right to be upset with Kate but that is the reason why she can’t let go and be with Anthony. Anthony is responsible for the entire family and add to it his exposure to tragedy so young made him unable to love.
The two are damaged but stronger for it. They are worthy of each other and deserving of the kind of intimacy most would dream of having one day themselves.
Perhaps what Bridgerton season 2 is trying to convey is how even something like love can be complicated. But it does not mean it’s impossible.
With one episode left this season, surely Kate will recover but will she become Viscountess? By saving Eloise did Penelope cause more permanent damage for herself and her best friend?
Will Queen Charlotte fall for this tactic?
