The Walking Dead mid-season finale is approaching at a rapid speed, and the events that transpire in season 11 episode 15 titled “Trust” might be the spark to light the powder keg. Lance Hornsby is obsessed with catching Aaron and Gabriel in a lie which leads to him encountering a rather dangerous opponent.

Meanwhile, Ezekiel is trying to find a new way to provide medical care to the citizens of The Commonwealth and an investigation into the missing citizens begins. It seems as much as The Commonwealth gives; they take twice as much away.

Ezekiel is very grateful to still be alive after a successful surgery. His attempts to get close to Carol again are valiant but he can tell she’s hiding something from him.

When it comes to Ezekiel, Carol has a horrible poker face. He pays Tomi a visit, unfortunately not catching the fact Tomi was hiding booze and pills in his desk.

A friend of Ezekiel’s needs an appendectomy, but it cannot be performed at the hospital. After much persuasion Tomi agrees and get caught while getting the supplies they need.

Tomi is about to faint, fearing the kind of repercussions he’ll receive when Carol enters the room. Ezekiel knew she’d take care of them.

When they are released, Ezekiel shows them the makeshift hospital he started at the zoo. He wanted to find a way for everyone at The Commonwealth to receive equal and proper treatment.

Carol and Tomi are impressed. As Ezekiel and Carol hang out together, while flirting a bit, Tomi asks for their help.

Thankfully he is able to remove the burst appendix. Ezekiel doesn’t speak on it, but he seemed to notice Tomi was struggling.

While all this is going on Connie and Kelly share the list of names of missing people with Rosita and Eugene. Rosita and Eugene tell them about what happened at the mansion and not surprisingly April’s (the woman trapped inside the room with the safe) name was on the list.

This causes Eugene to try to convince Max to help them by obtaining files from Governor Pamela Milton’s office. Angered that she was not aware of what was going on, Max confronts her brother Michael AKA: Mercer.

Mercer is already having a difficult time himself. He is officially in a relationship with Princess (yes!) but he won’t open up to her.

Max argues that they need to do something about the missing people whereas Mercer rather not get involved. He knows people love and look up to him and he wants to protect them, even if that means some die along the way.

He’s worried that if he gets involved and suddenly goes missing who will protect the people? His hesitation to help causes Max to take action.

She agrees to help Eugene and the two share a kiss. After having time to think Mercer tells Princess what’s been bothering him, revealing to her that he killed two of his own men.

Princess listens and suggests they figure out what to do together.

Maggie, Aaron and Gabriel decide to keep Negan, Annie and their group safe from The Commonwealth. It’s a noble act but it may become a costly one.

Lance Hornsby arrives to investigate the scene with several Commonwealth soldiers and Daryl in tow. He has a hard time believing that the people who killed his trained soldiers escaped and left Aaron and Gabriel alive.

Lance orders that they go search The Hilltop, making it his personal vendetta to prove they are lying, and that Maggie probably had something to do with it. After Aaron, Gabriel and Daryl are essentially forced to kill walkers for Lance, they arrive at The Hilltop.

Maggie will not let them in but to avoid bloodshed Daryl begs her to. She agrees and Lance begins his search.

After Lance fails to prove Maggie had some kind of involvement repeatedly, including spotting a truck that won’t start, he runs into Hershel returning from visiting his father’s grave. Lance tries to sway Hershel into revealing the truth, but he’s not easily manipulated.

Seeing what’s happening Elijah attacks Lance causing the Commonwealth soldiers to draw their guns. Maggie doesn’t take threats to her family kindly, completely fed up with Lance and his antics.

The issue is resolved however, Lance leaves with a threatening remark.

The Hilltop may have revealed nothing, but Lance doesn’t go back to The Commonwealth empty handed. As night approaches, Aaron, Gabriel and Daryl discuss their worries about the situation.

They know Lance won’t stop searching without finding something. They wonder if he’ll stop if they provide him with the missing weapons.

Unfortunately for them, Lance gets pulled away by a soldier who tells him they found something. Commonwealth soldiers surround Leah’s camp and she proceeds to kill a few with expert precision.

Lance makes a slow approach and asks to recruit her.

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 15 review

The latest episode of The Walking Dead focused a lot on loyalty. As much as I’m still terrified someone we care about will die because of Lance Hornsby, it was relieving to see the group remain loyal to each other.

Daryl is a Commonwealth soldier, but he’ll put the lives of those he cares about before anyone else’s. Aaron, Gabriel and Maggie stay consistent with their story, willing to protect the innocent people Negan and Annie are with.

Even though their distaste for Negan refuses to die, they are willing to put their lives on the line to save people. As much as these characters have changed throughout the countless years the show has been on the air, that is one thing that doesn’t change.

That is one thing The Commonwealth was not considering or saw coming. These people save and protect others.

With that said they didn’t expect Lance to become obsessed with finding the supposed killers but he’s proven himself to be a cruel and calculating man. I’m starting to get serious The Governor vibes from him.

He will not allow anyone to rise above him. He refuses to lose.

Deep down we know he fears what will happen if Governor Pamela Milton finds out about this too. And now that he managed to hire Leah, I think our survivors are going to be in a lot more danger than we anticipated.

Is she going to seek revenge on Daryl, Maggie, Gabriel or Negan? Will she target someone they care about instead?
