I Know What You Did Last Summer season 1, episode 2 recap: It’s Not Just for Dog Sh*t
By Wade Wainio
Episode 2 of Amazon Prime‘s I Know What You Did Last Summer begins with Bruce (Bill Heck) meeting his daughter Allison (Madison Iseman) at the door regarding the missing sister. At first, she says she is just tired but then begins crying about the topic.
She gets a further reason to cry after she finds a severed, horned goat’s head and the words “I know what you did” displayed in her closet! Not long after this revelatory find, the strange woman named Courtney (Cassie Beck) throws a dead animal through the window.
What could explain this very bizarre behavior? Then, Allison tells Bruce about what happened after he recognizes a discrepancy between which one of them smokes cigarettes.
Yes, Bruce tells her simply: “Allison ran away, you’re Lennon now”. Soon enough, “Lennon” talks to the group about the goat head, and they seemed startled but not undeterred.
Despite it seeming iffy as an athlete/coach bond, I Know What You Did Last Summer establishes a relationship between Johnny (Sebastian Amoruso) and coach Eric Craft (Duncan Kamakana).
Margot (Brianne Tju) congratulates Johnny.
I Know What You Did Last Summer says “There are no accidents”
Next, I Know What You Did Last Summer brings back Hannah (Danielle Delaunay), mother to Dylan (Ezekiel Goodman). Hannah meets Lennon, comforting her about Allison running away.
When Lennon privately informs Dylan of the goat head incident, he tries to play it cool, saying “There are no accidents, there’s only karma”. However, because Dylan’s family has at least one goat on their property, he (or someone close to him) begins looking like a possible suspect.
In the next scene, Riley (Ashley Moore) helps clear away the goat head and gives Lennon (who, again, is actually Allison) pills. Elsewhere, Officer Lyla (Fiona Rene) and Bruce get it on rather violently.
Afterward, she asked if Lennon has heard from Allison. Sometime after she leaves in her cop car, Bruce coaches Allison into writing a fake suicide note, making it brutal to be convincing.
Johnny shows up to visit Lennon the following morning, expressing surprise that she is smoking a cigarette.
Eric’s weight problem causes Johnny to lose his head
The body count continues to grow in this episode, as Johnny witnesses a dramatic moment in the gym. Eric has weights placed on his neck!
Johnny tries to remove them but to his surprise, the railing breaks. He falls as Eric dies.
Moments later, a goat body in the road scares Lennon. She receives a disturbing text message video of Johnny’s head gradually getting chopped off!
Then, the audio-visual representation comes to life, as she sees Johnny’s head on the side of the road. The episode finishes with Courtney and a goat head in the cave.
Does this mean she is the killer? Well, as these stories tend to have many twists and turns, it seems that would be too obvious.
Still, hanging around in caves with goat heads isn’t exactly normal, right? In any case, this is another episode down, two more obvious victims, and its only episode 2.
