Will the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and Ms. Marvel air at the same time?
Disney Plus has been consistently releasing series’ that appeal to both Marvel and Star Wars fans alike. The next step for both comes in the forms of the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series and the female superhero show Ms. Marvel.
In the past, we’d see Star Wars and Marvel-based shows rotate their time on the streaming platform. For instance, the final episode of The Book of Boba Fett season 1 aired on February 9, 2022.
The first episode of Marvel’s Moon Knight did not air until March 30, 2022, leaving a nice gap between the two. Now, the Obi Wan-Kenobi series will begin airing on Friday, May 27 and Ms. Marvel will be airing on Wednesday, June 8.
Both shows will consist of six episodes. While this might seem like nothing of relevance, the two shows will be airing around the same time which may be beneficial for viewers.
Will Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ms. Marvel affect Disney Plus viewership by airing relatively at the same time?
If you find yourself enjoying Marvel content, you won’t have to wait for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series to finish airing in order to enjoy Ms. Marvel, and vice versa. Choosing which shows air on which days of the week can also help gauge Disney Plus viewership.
We’ve seen the benefit to airing shows on Wednesdays ever since Loki season 1. Does this mean viewership for Obi-Wan Kenobi will be less because it will air on Friday?
We don’t think so. We’re curious if the streaming platform is simply conducting an experiment by having both shows air around the same time or if this will be a new norm.
If this does work in Disney Plus’ favor, we may see an even greater influx of shows. We could also have the benefit of watching over the course of several days each week as opposed to one day a week.
