Isle of the Dead update: Gaius Charles joins The Walking Dead spinoff cast
Currently not much is known about the plot of The Walking Dead spinoff, Isle of the Dead. Negan and Maggie will be teaming up and heading to New York City for undisclosed reasons, leaving behind their friends and family.
But why? Well, we have a few theories as to why but let’s focus on what’s actually known.
It looks like a new character named Perlie Armstrong will be meeting the two survivors and that might not be a good thing. Played by Gaius Charles (TV series Friday Night Lights and Roswell, New Mexico), Perlie is described according to Deadline as, “confident, ruthless, and unyielding in the pursuit of what he believes is justice, with the force of his will and his menace.”
He’s also described as a family man with a wife and daughters, yet he enjoys the terror he unleashes. Sounds like Negan and Maggie may have their hands full.
Who will Gaius Charles be playing on The Walking Dead spin-off Isle of the Dead?
We quickly visited Charles’s IMDB page where oddly enough he’s sited as playing the role of someone named Izaak. Is Izaak a nickname or fake name?
Our best guess based on his character description is that he’ll either be the leader of a large community residing within the city of perhaps he’ll have control of the entire city. It does unfortunately sound like the cruel and unforgiving nature of the walker apocalypse has molded him into the man he later becomes.
That wouldn’t be entirely far-fetched as we’ve seen similar progressions with past Walking Dead characters. What events do you think will lead Negan and Maggie to team up and travel to New York City?
