Have you read The Great actor Sebastian de Souza’s novel?

Sebastian de Souza has become quite commonplace in historical dramas from the likes of The Borgias (which was my introduction to the actor), to Medici and The Great. Each role was different but had this undertone of Souza’s profound ability to play likable characters.

Sometimes these characters messed up in some way, shared some cruel words, or met the saddest of ends. Outside of acting, Souza is a patron of The Globe Theatre Education Fund, he sings and plays instruments.

But did you know he’s also a writer? His novel, Kid: A History of The Future, was released in March of 2021.

The 624-page book takes place in London in the year 2078 and follows two characters: Josh ‘Kid’ Jones and Isabel Parry from 2021. The two are able to communicate through Instagram, but the world of 2078 is far different than that of 2021.

According to the novel synopsis on Goodreads, “London is a silent wasteland, abandoned and crumbling, populated only by the renegade ‘Offliner’ movement, the lawless ‘Seekers’ and other minorities that rejected The Upload in 2060.” Add to that alternative reality, and society simply trying to survive, and you have one futuristic and unique science fiction tale!
