The final two episodes of Baymax! have arrived! What happens when the hero of this Disney Plus series needs help?

After Baymax successfully helps a stray cat, he unknowingly finds himself in real danger! Will Hiro, Aunt Cass, and the group be able to rescue him in time?

Let’s find out!

Baymax! Season 1 Episode 5 recap – Yachi

Yachi, the stray cat finds himself in the park, in desperate need of food. After distracting a man eating sushi during his lunch break, Yachi leaves with a full stomach and something else.

He accidentally ate one of the man’s ear buds. Baymax, never far from anyone who needs help, attempts to dislodge the ear bud.

But every time he remotely gets close to Yachi, the terrified cat attacks and flees. During one escape Yachi witnesses a cat and its loving owner in a comfortable home, complete with a mouse toy.

Heartbroken, Yachi tries to make his own mouse toy out of garbage on the street. After Baymax catches him again, Yachi flees to an abandoned warehouse due to be demolished.

After more comedic mishaps Baymax finally dislodges the ear bud when suddenly he grows weak. He tries to plug himself into an outlet to charge his battery but doesn’t make it.

Yachi flees with a lollipop and the episode ends on a cliffhanger.

Baymax! Season 1 Episode 6 recap – Baymax

Hiro notices that Baymax never returned home which prompts him and his Aunt Cass to search the city for him. They enlist the help of Baymax’s more recent clients, Kiko, Mbita and Sofia.

When Kiko spots Yachi finishing the unmistakable Baymax lollipop, they believe the cat knows where their friend went. They arrive to the warehouse but aren’t allowed access as it’s due to be demolished.

While Mbita and Aunt Cass distract the workers with the food truck, Hiro, Kiko and Sofia try to get inside. Kiko and Sofia find Baymax as the demolition timer begins.

They barely get Baymax out when the demolition is paused due to Yachi sitting at the very top of the warehouse. Baymax is retrieved and awakens after his battery is charged.

He finds his friends ready to great him with relieved and happy expressions as season 1 comes to a close.

Baymax! Season 1 Episodes 5 and 6 review

Hiro had been making minor appearances at the end of several episodes leading to a great payoff during the season 1 finale. It was nice to see him, even for brief periods, as both he and Baymax make a great team!

I admittedly laughed probably more than I should have at Yachi’s attempts to scare Baymax away, leading to him with several holes and using several bandages. But nothing seems to sway Baymax from wanting to help.

The final episode was a sweet way to reconnect with all the characters, coming together to save Baymax. Even if he doesn’t understand why or how he was rescued, we as the audience know the impact, he leaves on every life he touches.

While this was a short and well written season, a season 2 wouldn’t be a bad idea either. I’m sure there are many more people who could use Baymax’s help, whether they realize it or not.
