It’s rather disheartening to see The Walking Dead absent from any Emmy Award Nominations this year. Fans of the show might not be surprised by this as the hit AMC series seems to feel neglected time and time again.

What makes this year’s snub brutal is that this is the final season. Yes, just because it’s the final season doesn’t mean it has to take some, if any, awards home.

But it does mean that this will be the last time they are able to. This means the acting, writing, costuming, effects, all of that is going to have to be at the show’s best.

But the show’s best still isn’t enough. In fact, the last time The Walking Dead was even nominated for an Emmy was back in 2017.

When was the last time The Walking Dead had an Emmy Award Nomination?

Seriously? Do you seriously mean to tell audiences that a show that is perhaps as groundbreaking, significant, and influential as the likes of HBO’s Game of Thrones, got one Emmy nomination in 2017?

What’s even more insulting is the lack of recognition for the actors themselves. Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Melissa McBride, Danai Gurira are powerhouses!

Don’t even get us started on later additions to steal the screen like Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Seth Gilliam, and Samantha Morton. Their acting is raw, natural, and beyond talented, even outside of the post-apocalyptic series.

We haven’t even begun to talk about the make-up and effects that time and time again go above and beyond. Fans will notice the improvement over just the course of a few seasons.

How does all of that work go unnoticed? Is the fact that this is seen as simply a show about “zombies” (walkers) the reason all of this talent and hard work is ignored?

Everyone knows, has known that The Walking Dead is more than “zombies” and the people trying to survive both them and the other dangerous survivors. What the Emmy’s do not recognize; thankfully other award ceremonies have.

At least The Walking Dead will always win in the hearts of fans.

dark. Next. Which actor from The Walking Dead is rumored to return in Season 11?
