Was an Isle of the Dead spoiler revealed in Jeffrey and Lauren’s message?
It’s no secret that filming for The Walking Dead spinoff Isle of the Dead has begun. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan who play Negan and Maggie have been seen while filming in Holmdel, New Jersey just a few days ago.
Filming began last week, while San Diego Comic-Con was underway. In fact, they were filming the same day all of the fantastic Walking Dead news was being released in Hall H, including the announcement of the Rick Grimes and Michonne spin-off.
Jeffrey and Lauren filmed a short video that was played in Hall H, explaining why they could not be there and how grateful they are to The Walking Dead and the devoted fans. But was more revealed than intended?
In the video, you can see Jeffrey is wearing a wedding band on his ring finger but is there also a wedding band hanging from his right wrist? To recap, Negan’s first real wife was Lucille whom he named his notorious and deadly bat after.
What was Isle of the Dead’s Lauren and Jeffrey’s message to fans of The Walking Dead about?
From his first appearance at the end of season 6 to his last stand as leader of The Saviors in season 8 we do not see both rings. Flash forward to season 11, Negan got married off-screen to a woman named Annie, who is pregnant with his child.
It is kind of hard to see if it is an actual ring hanging from the red thread. It could be that the wedding band on Jeffrey’s hand is real.
Jeffrey married Hilarie Burton on October 5, 2019, the same weekend as New York Comic Con. Does that mean the ring hanging from his wrist is the one from the show?
Does this mean Annie didn’t survive? Is the wedding band on his finger the band for his marriage with Annie and now Lucille’s band is hanging from his wrist?
Perhaps we’re overthinking this, but we’d like to know what you think! Does Annie survive?
