The season finale of Netflix’s Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight has arrived! Season 1 episode 11 titled, “The Knight’s Fall Part 2”, has Wandering Blade reflecting on her brother’s death, Klaus and Veruca trying to escape with both the whip and gauntlet, and an unexpected hero stepping up to fight!

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 1 Episode 11 recap – Alfred’s Death

The episode begins with the monkey thief and Emperor in one sleigh followed by Klaus and Veruca in another. They battle each other while traveling down the mountain using the whip and gauntlet.

Inside the palace, Po has been wounded but is being tended to by his loving and overprotective father. Wandering Blade tries to defend her actions, but Po’s father isn’t willing to listen to a word of it.

She results in confessing how it was her fault her brother died. The night Alfred died, he and another knight were sent to capture Klaus and Veruca.

Wandering Blade disobeys her brother’s orders to stay home and follows him into the forest where he battles the two weasels. In the process she tries to defend him.

But as he is tending to her Veruca kills him with his own sword. After listening to her tragic story, Po is ready to work with her again to stop the weasel siblings.

As Po, Wandering Blade, Po’s father and unfortunately the kimono dragon (who cuffed himself to Po not realizing what is about to happen) follow Klaus and Veruca in a sleigh, the hedgehog makes quick work of some fireworks! They crash the first time, but Po’s father takes the wheel, in a manner of speaking, and they try to battle the weasels while getting the whip from the monkey thief.

In the process, the kimono dragon and Emperor are thrown off the sleighs and land right where Wandering Blade left Colin the episode prior. When the sleighs all crash, Po gets the whip but struggles to use it against Klaus due to his wounded arm.

The truth as to why Klaus and Veruca wants the weapons becomes clear. The weapons contain the souls of those destroyed by them.

Once all the weapons come together, they will release those souls and thus Klaus and Veruca will have an army and seek revenge.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 1 Episode 11 recap – The story isn’t over yet

After Veruca’s offer to have Po and Wandering Blade join them is declined they manage to defeat both warriors and take the whip. They spot a large ship at the dock and begin to board it.

When Wandering Blade is about to be killed, Po offers to join them if she is spared. Veruca declines this time.

The monkey thief attempts to take the whip but fails. As the boat is about to set sail, Wandering Blade tugs on a metal chain to pull it back.

Po rushes to save her from getting struck by one of Veruca’s daggers and the two escape. Wandering Blade is thankful Po saved her and now considers him her friend.

Thankfully the monkey thief was able to swap the whips and has the real one. She also knows where the other weapons are located.

Together, Po, Wandering Blade, the monkey thief and Po’s father agree to leave and find the weapons. But what Po didn’t expect was that means actually leaving China.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 1 Episode 11 review

As expected, this series will hopefully continue into a second season! To be honest, that is fine by me.

I rather a story be told, if need be, through several seasons than crammed into one or stretched out with no purpose in sight. I will say that it was still a rather surprising ending.

I didn’t truly expect Klaus and Veruca to escape but I am glad they still only have one weapon. However, this does mean the monkey thief will now be a more prominent character in season 2 and to be honest she really doesn’t do it for me.

Po’s father is an excellent addition because he was always an extra dose of humor that I never grew tired of. But now that Po will have to leave China to continue the mission, where will they be going?

Will other characters from the Kung Fu Panda films make an appearance? Will Colin actually join them on their quest?

Is season 2 officially happening? I look forward to finding out and watching!
