5 questions we have after watching Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight S1
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight season 1 left viewers hanging as the weasel siblings Klaus and Veruca escape with the gauntlet leaving Po, Wandering Blade, Po’s father, and the monkey thief behind. But the group agrees to stick together, find the remaining two weapons and stop the mages.
Trouble is that means Po will have to leave China for the first time in his life. But where will they travel to?
Will Klaus and Veruca obtain the other two weapons and resurrect an all-powerful army? Will there even be another season?
Who knew Netflix and DreamWorks Animation could come together to create a very unique, yet familiar series aimed for children and adults to enjoy? Po’s return was very reminiscent of the character from the Kung Fu Panda films and the show did not miss a step in creating some unforgettable villains.
But we have the following five questions that we’d love to see answered. Before going forward, spoilers ahead for those who have not caught up with the show.
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight question: Will there be a Season 2?
Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger so naturally the story will continue right? Well, unfortunately there hasn’t been official word about a season 2 yet.
The trouble about ending any season on a cliffhanger before another season is greenlit, is that there is a 50/50 chance the series will not continue. So, while on the one hand a cliffhanger will make viewers that much more excited and inclined to watch the next season, it also makes that audience upset and frustrated when another season is denied.
We’d like to think a season 2 is in order. We’ll provide an update when we learn more information.
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight question: Is Po still considered a criminal?
Po is truly a gem of a character. His passion for kung fu was once seen as a ridiculous dream by everyone around him.
Yet now, he’s the Dragon Master! He’s trained with The Furious Five and defeated multiple foes!
So, it was heartbreaking to see that one act got misinterpreted and thus the careless Emperor of China himself deemed Po an enemy of the country. This is the same country he has saved repeatedly.
But The Emperor has learned the hard way that Po and Wandering Blade were telling the truth and in the final episodes of the season, he realized how much he needed him. Po is leaving China so he might be out of the woods for now.
But time will tell if The Emperor drops all charges and reinstates Po as the Dragon Master once again.
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight question: Where are the other weapons?
We learn that there are four magical and powerful weapons; two being the gauntlet and the whip. Klaus and Veruca manage to escape China with the gauntlet, but the monkey thief still possesses the whip and claims to know where the other two weapons are.
When all four are brought together, every soul the weapons claimed come back and can become a powerful army. Klaus and Veruca will enact their revenge for all the mages, but can they find the other two.
The search for the other two will take place outside of China but where will our heroes go? The world is large, so picking and choosing where these last two weapons are hidden are going to have to be well thought out and compelling.
We personally would like to see one of them actually located underwater somewhere. It would be the ideal time to use bioluminescence!
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight question: Will past Kung Fu Panda characters make an appearance?
Po and his father seem to be the only characters from the Kung Fu Panda film franchise to appear on this series. But does that mean we won’t see the likes of The Furious Five?
What about a reference to them? Understandably this is as much as Po’s story and journey as it is for Wandering Blade. Bringing in characters we’ve seen already will take time away from new ones.
However, at the same time it would be nice to see some familiar faces. We were introduced to so many new characters that we couldn’t help but miss some of the old ones.
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight question: Will Colin return?
One of our favorite new characters this season was Colin. Klaus and Veruca are still at the top of our list, but Colin had us sold almost instantly!
He was quiet, tall and mysterious. When it was revealed, he was a stag who used his antlers as deadly weapons, we were floored!
Later on, we learn a bit more about him, like his love of poetry and mission to arrest Wandering Blade. Plot twist!
Aside from that he remains very elusive. Will he continue his pursuit of arresting Wandering Blade?
Will he instead join forces with her to stop Klaus and Veruca? Will we see him again?
We certainly hope so!
