What did Scott M. Gimple reveal about Isle of the Dead?
There is a lot of speculation about next year’s The Walking Dead spinoff Isle of the Dead? Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have been quite busy this summer filming the six-episode spinoff, reprising the roles of Maggie and Negan.
Since we have yet to see how The Walking Dead series concludes we have a lot of questions. Why are they teaming up?
Where are they going? Will other characters from The Walking Dead make appearances?
Scott M. Gimple, who you may know served as showrunner for The Walking Dead for several seasons will be an executive producer for the spinoff. Last night, he shared some information about the highly anticipated series during Talking Dead: The Walking Dead Universe Preview 2022 special.
What are Maggie and Negan getting themselves into in Isle of the Dead?
Comicbook shared a lot of the details, including that Maggie and Negan will be traveling to a New York City that is described by Gimple as “crumbling and chaotic”. “There’s a lot of conflict. There’s a lot of action. There are zip lines, the walkers are insane. The rats in that city are insane.”
Should we be worried about giant rats or walker rats? Does this mean animals actually can get infected?
We’re getting ahead of ourselves. But Gimple wasn’t the only one with news to share about the upcoming spinoff.
President of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, Dan McDermott, said this in Variety’s Strictly Business podcast, “There’s a million-walker herd that’s sort of dominating the streets of Manhattan… Maggie and Negan have to journey onto the island, where there’s a small civilian [faction] that lives in Manhattan … above the 10th floor of all the buildings, and they zipline back and forth above the streets.”
