D23 made a lot of announcements from the likes of several upcoming Disney Plus series to future Marvel films and trailer releases. One of the official trailers that were released was for the upcoming ECHO.

ECHO is a Hawkeye spinoff focusing on the character Echo AKA: Maya Lopez played by Alaqua Cox. We were introduced to her character in Hawkeye, as she sought revenge for her father’s death.

Hawkeye was unfortunately responsible however he was assigned the job by her uncle, the infamous Kingpin. Initially, Echo doesn’t believe him but by the end of the series, she resorts to confronting her uncle with a gun.

We hear the gunshot but never see the result. As Kingpin is a very popular villain in the Marvel Universe we wouldn’t be surprised if he is still alive.

What happens during the ECHO offical trailer?

With all of this buildup to the spinoff, you’d think the trailer would be amazing. Well, it is, but only those who were present in the room during D23 got to see the trailer.

Rest assured; the trailer should eventually drop on YouTube. But we’re curious as to what was shown to those lucky few.

Variety shared some details, “The “Echo” footage, which was exclusive to those in the room at D23, included subtitles, shots of Native people and tons of Echo (Cox) kicking ass. At the very end of the first-look video, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin returns and is wearing an eyepatch.”

Does this mean ECHO pulls a Walking Dead stunt, where the bullet she fired doesn’t kill him but instead destroys the eye socket? It certainly seems that way.

Does this mean Kingpin will be seeking revenge against his niece? Which other Marvel characters will she encounter?

ECHO is scheduled to arrive in the summer of 2023 on Disney Plus.
