Catch up here on everything from the last episode!

The fourth episode begins with Luthen Rael putting his ship into hyperspeed to help him and Cassian Andor escape the Pre-Mor Authority. Andor is confused about how this ship, one he is familiar with, can jump to hyperspeed, but Rael deflects.

Luthen offers Cassian a safe drop-off or a chance to help with something “important.” When Andor asks to define the importance, Luthen explains he needs Cassian’s sticky fingers to steal something big from The Empire.

Cassian then begins to figure out Luthen represents the “alliance” against The Empire, a side he does not want to be a part of as he states Luthen does not know him. As Rael explains the details about Cassian’s youth and his time fighting down in Mimban, the thief is stunned to hear his life told back to him.

Luthen knows Cassian was pitted against his compatriots by way of The Empire, and that is why he is here. Luthen did not care for the Starpath unit they left in Ferrix, but for Cassian Andor and his hatred for The Empire.

When Cassian agrees, he is told it is a five-day job that will earn him 200k credits. All Cassian has to do is steal a quarterly payroll for an entire Imperial sector.

In the galaxy’s capital of Coruscant, a meeting of the Imperial Security Bureau is underway with Major Partagaz leading the meeting. He states their mission is to remove and cure sickness in the galaxy to make it healthier.

When one officer describes the events on Morlana and Ferrix to Major Partagaz, the ISB officer Dedra Meero perks up and reads up about the case with a worrying look.

Andor season 1 episode 4: Cassian is sent on his mission

Once they land on the planet Aldhani, Cassian chooses the name “Clem” as his alias for the next five days. As the woman in charge arrives at the ship, Luthen gives Cassian a blue sky kyber crystal as a down payment and a symbol of his honor, something he expects back in five days.

Luthen then exits his ship to greet Vel Sartha. Since they are five months in and leave in three days, Vel is annoyed at Luthen’s decision to bring in a new person.

She ultimately agrees once Rael explains Cassian is disposable since he is only being paid and not a true member of the Rebellion. Within the Pre-Mor Authority headquarters, the ISB officer is reprimanding Chief Inspector Hyne, Deputy Inspector Syrill Karn, and Sergeant Mosk for their utter failure on Ferrix.

Because of this incident, and mainly Karn, the Imperial Security Bureau has replaced this corporate security. While walking to their rebellion camp, Vel and “Clem” are breaking down the details of this job which do not line up with what Luthen told him.

They agree to keep Luthen’s name and involvement a secret before saving their breath for the long walk back. Back at the Imperial Security Bureau offices, Dedra discovers the NS-9 Starpath was from her sector so she should have jurisdiction.

After she sends an officer and goes to him herself, Officer Blevin’s does not give up control of the case. Therefore, Dedra goes to the Major.

Andor season 1 episode 4: Senator Mon Mothma is struggling

As Clem and Vel finally return to her camp, the other rebels are understandably cautious of this new person. Vel is adamant about his involvement which leads to some acceptance but a lot of subtle and explicit pushback.

Unemployed, Syrill Karn returns home to his mother and gets a slap followed by a hug. After leaving Cassian on Aldhani, Luthen Rael gets physically and emotionally prepared to return to his other life as a socialite on Coruscant.

He owns a museum-like shop, which is all a front for his rebellious actions. One patron is Senator Mon Mothma who he talks to privately at the back.

The senator talks about how spies are being replaced every day and how she cannot trust anyone since The Empire is closing in. She states how she might have another person to bring into the inner circle, however Luthen is not pleased with this.

Mon Mothma returns to her home to find her husband Perrin preparing for dinner. The guests for tonight, however, are all people who are her political opponents.

She is hurt by her husband’s decision and lack of making sure with him. Perrin is not fussed about it and makes jokes about his wife’s anger.

Andor season 1 episode 4: Officer Dedra Meero pleas her case

Returning to the Aldhani camp, their man on the inside arrives; Lieutenant Gorn. Like the other crew members, Gorn is upset with Vel’s sudden change.

But she receives support from some of her crew members. When they all are settled, the crew updates their new member Clem on their mission and their exact plan.

Cassian recognizes how this is an uphill battle. When Gorn explains there is a rare astronomical anomaly that occurs once every three years called, The Eye.

When this happens in three days, that is when they will move. Taking her complaint to the major, Dedra and Blevins plea their case to Partagaz.

The major decides that since there is no proof of a major rebellion with Dedra’s evidence, he lets Blevin continue to work on the Ferrix case. Aside, Partgaz commends Dedra’s work telling her she still has a lot of potential.

The episode ends with Cassian and the six rebels building their bond stronger but still having a lot to go before they are a full team.
