Sneak peek at 1923 coming to Paramount Plus on December 18

During the Yellowstone season 5 premiere, the audience got to see the first glimpse of Taylor Sheridan’s next Yellowstone spinoff, 1923. This will be the sequel to1883.

Starring the sensational duo of Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, the two academy award winners are taking the Yellowstone franchise to even greater pastures.

In the background you can hear the familiar voice Else Dutton from1883. “Violence has always haunted this family. It followed us from the Scottish Highlands to the slums of Dublin, and it followed us here. And where it doesn’t follow…we hunt it down. We seek it.”

The series will premiere on Paramount Plus exclusively on December 18. Within the 30-second clip we see a lot of battle action already.

We will all get to see the Duttons’ take on pandemics and prohibition, along with The Great Depression. It should make for very interesting television to see the Dutton family go through some of the most historic times in American history.

Helen Mirren spoke to Vanity Fair about the upcoming series, revealing the couple have been married a long time (4 decades) but haven’t had any children. Harrison Ford echoed her words saying the two of them are completely wrapped up in each other.

So far it sounds like a love story for the ages between Jacob and Cara.

"“An incredible partnership where you can be honest with each other, and your love and support of each other is total, but at the same time you are no longer blinded by love or by lust. You’re much more clear-eyed about your relationship, but the relationship becomes all the stronger for that very reason.” -Helen Mirren on the relationship between Cara and Jacob."

Cara is an Irish immigrant, now in her late 60’s. Mirren really wanted to give her character a full backstory about all the Irish immigrant who came over because of the potato famine.

Jacob is the brother of James Dutton, who Tim McGraw played in1883. After his death, Jacob and his wife take over the ranch.

This is a new generation in1923, but we will look for certain characters to emulate the personalities of people we have seen before. Speaking of those we’ve seen before, we will see John Dutton Sr., who was just a little boy in1883, now a middle-aged man with his own family.

They are very connected to Cara and Jacob. Just as we see in Yellowstone, now the Native Americans in the area of that time will play a big role in the show.
