The Last of Us official trailer has dropped for HBO Max and it’s a thrilling and phenomenal one! All the gaming fans knew what could be expected from this show, but the trailer is wowing even the biggest fans of the game.
Here is a look at the official trailer of the upcoming hit and highly anticipated The Last Of Us:
The show sets off by following smuggler Joel (Pedro Pascal) who is tasked with escorting Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across a post-apocalyptic United States. She could be the key to saving everyone.
It’s Joel’s job to get her across and help find a cure for humanity.

Ellie is the only one infected who hasn’t turned. They think she could be the key to the cure.
Joel sees her as precious cargo and he has to fulfill his job for the world, and the future of it. The scenery for The Last of Us is outmatched by any zombie show we have seen.
You can’t even compare it to The Walking Dead. It’s a step above the rest as you will see down below.
It already looks like a great cinematic masterpiece.

“If you don’t think there’s hope for the world why bother going on,” Ellie asks to Joel in the trailer. In a post zombie apocalypse, hope is usually all but lost.
In the minds of younger generations, they still have it because what else is there? Joel tells her you haven’t seen the world so you don’t know.
But that won’t last very long for Ellie as they have to travel the worst parts of it. The journey out west already looks to be a scary one with impending dangers and elements they will have to battle.
"”You keep her alive. Save who you can save.”"

Here is a thread of so many of the great parallels between the game and the show that we have to look forward to!

Pedro Pascal is bringing Joel to life in a big way. In the trailer you hear Joel say that you keep going for family.
Ellie replies with I’m not family. He knows she’s cargo but as it so often goes in an apocalypse, people can become your family.
Will we see this adaptation too? Family is one thing that bonds people together.
It’s the force that keeps them fighting, to survive for each other. He might not be her father but his experience as one should come into play throughout the series.

Below is a great game to series comparison. We should see a lot of that as it can create excitement for the gaming fans and new excitement for the first-time generation who have not played before.

Creator Craig Mazin says there are going to be moments fans will know from the game that will blow you away. As well as moments of new and big surprises that will blow the audience away as well.
Co-Creator Neil Druckmann says that stuff that was written that didn’t make it into the original The Last of Us is present in the HBO show.
#AMC needs to stop being cheap with #TWD. The bar is raised. THIS is what post-apocalyptic imagery looks like. #thelastofushbo pic.twitter.com/uS3KsoLtEO

The bar has definitely now been raised. Though it is the superiority of HBO I feel like it’s going to blow everything else that has been done before out of the water.
