In honor of Valentine’s Day, which is approaching faster than expected, we wanted to take a look at one of several relationships from The Office. We could talk about Jim and Pam or Michael and Holly, but we can’t stop thinking about the insanely dramatic and charmingly romantic relationship that is Angela and Dwight.

Not that other relationships weren’t equally romantic or dramatic, it’s just…Angela and Dwight fit so absurdly well together. They are both, by most standards, sticks in the mud and workplace nightmares.

They care about their jobs and don’t necessarily condone distractions and jokes that could affect said jobs. Unless it somehow benefits them.

They cannot stand working with unreliable and incapable employees, yet they will tolerate them when necessary. While also being insultingly honest.

How did Dwight and Angela’s relationship unfold on The Office?

They both have hearts of gold when it comes to their passions for things like beets, and cats. At the end of the day, they are more similar than they themselves realized.

But even Angela and Dwight suffered at the hands of the longest slow burns in television history. You think Pam and Jim took forever to get together?

At least Pam had a useless fiancé and Jim had an actual relationship with Karen. Nothing too out of the ordinary, really there.

Angela was engaged to Andy while conducting an affair with Dwight behind his back. Then she gets married to Senator Robert Lipton, who later turns out to be gay and in love with her coworker Oscar.

But that’s not all! Angela gets pregnant and has a baby boy named Phillip whom everyone knows cannot be the Senator’s baby.

Spoiler alert, it’s Dwight’s! But no, Angela and Dwight are still not together yet.

Dwight in the meantime, starts dating his third cousin Esther Bruegger! Angela and Dwight do not get married until the series finale, where she finally admits to Dwight that Phillip is his son!

But it is Angela and Dwight’s wedding, that really makes you realize how important everyone came to be for each other on the show. Dwight and Jim, who have been workplace enemies/friends are truly able to appreciate and respect each other now.

Even Angela grows to love and appreciate her coworkers, especially Phyllis, who she probably butted heads with the most. It’s so heartwarming and magical!

Angela and Dwight were able to love each other, after all of these years, all the drama, with all of their quirks. This includes Angela’s multitude of cats and Dwight’s very traditional and strange family.

Their wedding was truly the best way to wrap up such an incredibly funny and heartwarming show.
