Shadow and Bone Season 2 on Netflix: Recap, story, and what we know so far
What to expect from Shadow and Bone Season 2?
The Netflix series has already taken several creative liberties, and while Alina’s story remains similar, things have veered off course when it comes to the original books’ plots.
The Crows and Alina never met in the original series, but all of that has changed. This leaves a lot up for the imagination, but thankfully, we have more to depend on than just that.
With Shadow and Bone rated 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, fans are certainly looking forward to the show dropping in March. Shadow and Bone Season 2 is expected to be based on the events of the second book, Seige and Storm, for Alina, Mal, and The Darkling’s story.
In the book, Alina and Mal try to live a normal life, but having to hide her powers becomes too stifling, while The Darkling continues to track them and gain more power. It also introduces Alina to a privateer named Sturmhond, as she has to take his assistance in trying to stop the Grisha General from gaining further control.
The Shadow and Bone Season 2 sneak peek trailer showed more action, as well as what appeared to be a confrontation between The Darkling and Alina.
As for what happens to Kaz and the Crows, that’s slightly harder to say, given the Six of Crows was not explored at all in the first season. Instead, fans got a bit of a prequel to the book. Now, the season 2 might feature the Crows’ rescue mission in Fjerda, Matthias’s home country, and the further chemistry that develops between him and Nina. Although, that might be saved for later seasons as well.
For the moment, fans are holding their breath to see what Eric Heisserrer has planned for Shadow and Bones going forward.
