Netflix and DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight continues the tale of the lovable, humorous, and ambitious Po, the Dragon Master! He, Wandering Blade, Mr. Ping (Po’s father), and Rukmini spent the better half of season 2 trying to find the remaining Tianshang weapons before weasel siblings Klaus and Veruca do.

Many, many plot twists ensue, new friends are made, conflicts are resolved and unfortunately, other enemies are drawing near. By the end of season 2, the group, including the new member, wacky genius Akna, are traveling by boat to England, to find out if the second storm wheel has either been destroyed or stored away.

The group now possesses the helmet, whip, gauntlet, and one of the storm wheels, but we’re sure Veruca hasn’t given up on her mission yet. Nor has the likes of Colin, Weimin, and Pirate Queen Forouzan.

So where does this leave the story? Will fans of the series see a third season in the near future?

Is a season 3 on the horizon for Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight?

Producer Peter Hastings, known for his involvement with such works as Pinky and the Brain, Lilo & Stitch: The Series and Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness recently spoke with What’s on Netflix about Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight season 2. When asked about how season 2’s conclusion opened up for possibility for a third season, he responded,

"“We hope the gang will continue their globe-trotting and get to Medieval England, but with some exciting complications along the way. A fun aspect of developing the story is bringing in new characters as well as diving deeper into the lives of the established ones. Sometimes we agree on a story destination, and then figure out how the heck we are getting there. Lots of great surprises come from that process.”"

We’re already intrigued! By visiting England, audiences will get a chance to see Wandering Blade on her own turf, but will the trip be putting the knight in further danger?

She is wanted for impersonating a knight and stealing her brother’s armor and weapon. But there may be yet an even bigger plot twist waiting for our heroes.

We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open, as we await further news.

dark. Next. One Bridgerton character will not be returning for season 3
