Update on The Umbrella Academy’s fourth and final season
When Netflix announced that The Umbrella Academy had been renewed for a fourth and final season, fans breathed a sigh of relief that they would be getting a conclusion to the beloved series. The show began airing first in 2019, based on the comic book of the same name.
Now the streaming service announced that The Umbrella Academy’s final season is officially in production. A picture of the cast and the showrunner at a table read accompanied the post on Twitter.
For the moment, no release date has been announced for the last season of the show. However, it’s expected that the show should return for one last time either by the end of 2023, or early 2024.
Which means fans will have to wait quite some time before they can see how the show ends.
The picture on Twitter showed the following cast members:
- Elliot Page – Viktor
- Aidan Gallagher – Five
- Justin H. Min – Ben
- Robert Sheehan – Klaus
- David Castaneda – Diego
- Tom Hopper – Luther
- Emmy Raver-Lampman – Allison
- Ritu Arya – Lila
- Steve Blackman – the showrunner
While he was not in the picture, we can expect Colm Feore to be a part of the last season reprising his role of Reginald.
How many episodes will there be for The Umbrella Academy season 4?
The Umbrella Academy’s final season will not have too many episodes, six in total. Fans, on hearing about the short final season called for longer episodes.
For now, the exact length of the episodes has not been confirmed. But the first three seasons all had 10 episodes.
Season 3 ended with the universe getting a reset causing The Umbrella Academy members to be stripped of their powers, and each of them end up parting ways. The fact that the first episode of the new season is titled, “The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want”, is probably not good news for any of the characters as they try to navigate whatever chaos this new world will bring.
