Fans of the Netflix romance and period piece drama Bridgerton are already familiar with the likes of King George and Queen Charlotte. Will they then flock to Netflix when Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story airs?

While we’ve seen more of her highness and all of her glamourous gowns and jaw-dropping wigs, King George has made occasional appearances. Audiences quickly learned why the King was often absent and it’s quite heartbreaking, to be honest.

Although the marriage between the King and Queen seems pleasant enough, there is evidence that they once had a very loving relationship. Queen Charlotte’s expression says as much, every time her husband unexpectedly arrives delirious or in a fit of wild and untamed rage.

Sometimes there are remnants of who he once was. But these glimmers are short lived.

What was revealed in a photo of King George from Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story?

Who was King George before this and what was his life like before marrying the future, Queen Charlotte? The upcoming Bridgerton spinoff, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, will probably provide those answers and more as this will be a prequel.

We will see for the first time a young Charlotte, Violet, and Agatha, women who would later marry and become close friends. A few photos and even a clip of what’s to come in the spinoff have been released, but it is this photo of a young King George that is turning heads currently.

The photo, posted by the official Bridgerton Twitter page shows King George in a room full of books, papers, and lit candles. Objects from a pristine Greek or Roman statue and telescope suggest that King George is a very intelligent and dedicated man who adores spending his time with his passions.

It is a stark contrast to the man he would, unfortunately, later become. But it does seem to coincide with our previous theory that he is a recluse and probably prefers the company of his hobbies over people.

An official release date for this spinoff remains unknown. However, we appreciate and look forward to more glimpses and insight into one love story that will surely be unforgettable.
