The development of Secret Invasion began in September 2020 with head writer Kyle Bradstreet. By December of that year, the title and premise of the series were revealed, along with Mendelsohn’s casting.
Filming took place in several locations in England, including London and Liverpool from September 2021 to April 2022. But beyond the action and adventure, Secret Invasion also has the potential to explore deeper themes, such as the nature of power and how it can corrupt even the most well-intentioned individuals.
The series may also delve into issues of immigration and cultural assimilation, as the Skrulls struggle to fit into human society and establish a new home on Earth. As with all Marvel properties, the potential for crossover events and tie-ins with other films and series in the MCU is high.

“According to insider scooper KC Walsh, the highly-anticipated series has been pushed back from its initial May release date to June of this year.” While the delay may have disappointed some fans, others see it as an opportunity for the production team to ensure that the series is of the highest quality.
With such high expectations surrounding the project, it’s understandable that the team would want to take their time and deliver something truly remarkable. So, while we may have to wait a little longer to see Secret Invasion, one thing is for sure – the anticipation for this series has only continued to grow.
