Amazon Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to return for a power-packed second season and has added three stars in important roles. Ciaran Hinds is one of the additions to the cast and will be joined by British actors Rory Kinnear and Tanya Moodie.

It’s not revealed what the roles of the three stars are, but the three will have recurring roles in the second season of the TV show.

Who are the latest additions to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power cast?

Ciaran Hinds is a veteran actor with several accolades to his name over his massive career. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Belfast.

The star has also had acclaimed roles in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Silence, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, to name just a few. Co-star Rory Kinnear is also recognizable from several top films and TV shows, but he is most recognized for having won the Olivier Award for Best Actor as the villain Iago in the National Theatre production of Othello.

He also starred in Southcliffe, Penny Dreadful, Black Mirror, and several others. Meanwhile, the other addition to The Rings of Power cast, Tanya Moodie, is no stranger to starring in top shows.

She played John Watson’s therapist in Sherlock and is best known for her roles in Motherland, Absentia, and The Clinic. With a rather varied cast added to the show, it remains to be seen where the showrunners will take The Rings of Power in the second season.

The show revealed the identity of the Dark Lord Sauron himself at the end of the first season. Things will only heat up from there, but season 2 is expected to show the fall of Numenor and the rise of Sauron’s power.
