What happens in the new Marvel Secret Invasion trailer?
Secret Invasion appears to promise one last fight for Nick Fury. But what does that mean, exactly?
From what we can gather about the Marvel series, due to air on Disney Plus June 21, this won’t be your usual MCU plot. Yes, there are aliens, plenty of action scenes, as well as secret government agency involvement, but the tone of this show seems to be one Marvel hasn’t really touched upon in a while.
How so? Well, according to the new trailer which dropped over the weekend, the alien influence on our planet seems to have become far worse than anyone predicted.
So much so that somehow Nick Fury was planning for this, to the point of having a secret stash of weapons in a cemetery mausoleum. From listening to the background music alone, audiences can sense that we’re probably not going to be getting much of a buddy cop vibe from Nick Fury or Skrull Talos.
How far into the MCU does Secret Invasion go?
This is quite the opposite from what we saw of Talos, specifically in the Marvel film Captain Marvel from 2019, regardless of the end credit scene. Somehow, after all of Fury’s hard work and covering his tracks, he is still the most wanted man probably in the world.
What does he know that makes him such a threat to everyone, human and alien alike? Has a past event come back to haunt him?
What ever the cause may be, it’s involving the likes of Everett K. Ross and James Rhodes. Will this series be separate from the current Kang the Conqueror arc?
Will it somehow play into November’s Marvel film The Marvels? Honestly, your guess is as good as ours.
