Ms. Marvel is a Marvel Disney Plus series that tells the story of how Jersey City high school student Kamala Khan, AKA: The biggest Captain Marvel ever, becomes Ms. Marvel. Kamala’s life is under constant strain as her personal life often conflicts with her home life, with her family often portrayed as a strict Muslim American household.
One that doesn’t necessarily agree with her passionate fandom of Captain Marvel. But throughout the first season, Kamala is able to learn more about her family, which includes a well-kept secret about the magical cuffs that seem to inhibit her with powers.
Season 1 ends with Kamala connecting with her family in new ways, while taking on the new persona of Ms. Marvel, when she is suddenly transported to another dimension. From that same dimension the actual Captain Marvel arrives, visibly confused.
It’s no secret that fans will be seeing Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau from WandaVision in the upcoming Marvel film The Marvels. But it seems the film won’t be the last time we’ll be seeing the cheerful and witty Kamala.
What is the status of Ms. Marvel season 2?
According to several rumors, including one posted by Marvel Updates on Twitter, Ms. Marvel’s second season is currently in development. If the rumors are true, this will become the second Marvel Disney Plus series to get renewed for a second season, behind Loki.
As The Marvels isn’t due for release until November of this year, there is no telling what Ms. Marvel season 2 will be about. We have no idea which characters are returning, who the villain/s will be or how much Kamala might have changed.
We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for more details, but in the meantime, you can enjoy Ms. Marvel season 1 currently streaming on Disney Plus.
