Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”, sets the tone for the incredible teaser of The Continental: From the World of John WickPeacock and Lionsgate TV are set to release the prequel spinoff in September 2023, as the hype from the John Wick 4 movie currently sits on a high note.

The first season will have only three episodes, about how Winston Scott, played by Ian McShane in the movies, eventually came to control the infamous New York branch of the hotel for assassins.

Colin Woodell stars as a young Scott, replacing McShane, while Ayomide Adegun portrays a young Charon, who was originally played by the late Lance Reddick. The show will be set in the 1970s’ during the sanitation strike era where trash was left to fester on the city streets.

What does The Continental teaser reveal?

You can see in the teaser that The Continental in New York City was already a destination of both ill-repute and glamor for the caste-divided underworld of hitmen and criminals that populate the lore of the John Wick movies. As a branch of the chain of hotels that these assassins can call neutral ground, it’s one of the very few places where they can relax, socialize, and resupply, without fear of becoming one of their colleagues’ marks.

Meantime, the High Table keeps an observant eye on these jockeying killers and their neutral territories, sending out their enforcers when someone steps out of line to deal swift and merciless justice.

Woodell, who you’ve likely seen as Rick Betancourt on The Purge TV show, will take viewers on a journey into the stories of the literal murderers’ row that The Continental regularly welcomes to its halls. How did Scott and his comrades eventually take over management of the hotel?

When will we meet them in the movies 40 years later? And how did he become friends with the legendary Baba Yaga Mister Wick?

Though it’s unclear what his role will be, confirmed to appear in the series is Mel Gibson as someone named Cormac. Will he be an assassin or an agent of the mysterious elders of the High Table?
