Netflix’s All the Light We Cannot See: Cast, filming locations and more

In March 2019, the rights to adapt the novel All the Light We Cannot See into a limited television series were acquired by Netflix and 21 Laps Entertainment. In September 2021, a series order was granted by Netflix, consisting of four episodes.

Aria Mia Loberti was initially announced to play the lead role of Marie-Laure, but in January 2022, Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie were announced as the leads instead. In February 2022, Louis Hofmann, Lars Eidinger, and Nell Sutton also joined the cast. James Newton Howard was announced as the composer for the series.

The series was filmed on location in Budapest, Saint-Malo, and Villefranche-de-Rouergue from March to July 2022. A large part of Villefranche-de-Rouergue was adapted for the production’s needs, including filming the main scenes such as the bombings and the Saint-Malo liberation scene.
