Episode 7 of Netflix’s Beef shows that the main characters, Amy and Danny, face the outcomes of their past decisions. Amy has an affair and Danny’s poor electrical work leads to losing a potential new home, making them feel unhappy and trapped.

  • Life after eight months: The newest episode of Beef takes place eight months after the last episode. It shows us how the characters’ lives have changed since then. But, with their new houses, jobs and relationships, come new problems and results to face.
  • Danny’s rise to power: Danny is doing well after becoming the new frontman of the church’s band and taking over Edwin’s position. He’s also dating Esther and built a house on his parent’s land. But some things he did are causing trouble.
  • Edwin’s downfall: Edwin is not doing well since we last saw him. He visits Danny’s apartment and asks for a job, suggesting that Danny got his new house and Paul’s apartment illegally. It seems that Edwin and Veronica are having a hard time financially after having a baby.
  • Amy’s struggle with happiness: Amy lives in a lovely vacation house with her family, but she doesn’t feel very happy. Her situation becomes even more complicated when she discovers that her husband, George, is having an emotional affair with Mia. Although Amy suggests they see their therapist, Dr. Lin, she wants to go alone.
  • The revelation of Kayla’s true identity: At a party at Amy and George’s house, Danny sees Amy’s tattoo and figures out that Kayla is actually Amy. He gets really mad and leaves the house. Amy follows him saying that he’s a bad person and that it’s his fault Isaac got arrested.
  • Betrayal and consequences: To keep his brother from investigating their company’s financial records, Danny reveals to Paul that Amy was only using him to get to him. This angers Paul and he confronts George about his affair with Amy. This leads to George leaving with their daughter, Junie.
  • A fiery conclusion: Danny is getting ready to take his parents to their new home, but they find out that their house has been set on fire. Firefighters are working to put out the fire, leaving us uncertain about what will happen next.

Review of Beef season 1 episode 7: I Am a Cage

Episode 7, titled “I Am a Cage,” is a thrilling and intense episode that showcases the outcomes of the characters’ past decisions. The episode takes place eight months after episode 6 where we see how the characters have changed since then.

Danny, who has risen to power as the new frontman of the church’s band, is doing well. He’s dating Esther, built a house on his parent’s land and has taken over Edwin’s position.

However, some of his past actions are coming back to haunt him and he faces some major consequences. Amy, who is living in a beautiful vacation home with her family, discovers that her husband George is having an emotional affair with Mia.

Her struggle with happiness is apparent and she seeks therapy to help her cope with her feelings. However, she wants to go alone, not with George, indicating that their relationship is in trouble.

The revelation of Kayla’s true identity is a significant turning point in the episode. Danny sees Amy’s tattoo and realizes that Kayla is actually Amy.

He gets angry and leaves the party, as Amy blames him for Isaac going to jail. The betrayal and consequences that follow as a result of Danny’s actions to keep his brother from investigating their company’s financial records, leads to a confrontation between Paul and George.

This results in George leaving with their daughter, Junie. The episode ends with a shocking twist, as Danny’s parent’s new home is set on fire.
