What is the status of filming for Stranger Things season 5?

Netflix’s hit sci-fi series Stranger Things is coming to an end next season. The show started as the story of a missing boy and how his friends try to find him in the 1980s.

What the boys find instead, is a girl their age who had escaped from a lab in their own quiet hometown of Hawkins, Indiana. Their friend is later found but so is the existence of the Upside Down and all the horrid creatures that live within it.

Since then, Hawkins hasn’t been the same, as these creatures have murdered classmates, loved ones, and townsfolk. Yet somehow the Upside Down remained a secret.

If that isn’t enough, even Russia gets involved. By the end of season 4, the girl, El, has learned how she was the one who accidentally opened the portal to the Upside Down.

What is the status of Stranger Things season 5?

Now she must defeat the evil being Vecna, who has already begun his invasion of Hawkins. Will El defeat Vecna and be able to save her friends?

Will Hawkins be forever changed? Unfortunately, we might not have the answer for some time as filming for season 5 has been delayed.

According to a tweet on the Stranger Writers Twitter account, filming will not be possible due to the ongoing writer’s strike. The strike, known as the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, begun on May 2 and hasn’t shown any signs of ending.

The good news is that many, like The Duffer Brothers, are willing to wait for a fair deal to occur. If you want to learn more about the strike, read Today’s article here.

In the meantime, you can watch and enjoy all four seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix.
