In Hulu’s Saint X season 1 episode 6, viewers are taken on an emotional rollercoaster, as the aftermath of Alison’s disappearance continues to haunt her family. The episode opens with a press conference from the island’s police.

They have made the decision to sack the detective handling Alison’s case, due to mishandling the investigation. Back in New York, Bill and Mia, Alison’s parents, find themselves grappling with the aftermath of their traumatic holiday.

Mia spends her days in tears, preparing for Alison’s funeral, while Bill is consumed by his desperate desire to crack the case. In the midst of all this grief, their daughter Claire feels emotionally abandoned and lost.

Bill and Mia, in an attempt to move forward and embrace new beginnings, encourage Claire to explore new possibilities in her life. Bill contemplates a career in teaching, while Mia suggests taking up gardening.

Inspired by her parents’ quest for change, Claire decides to change her name, opting for her middle name, Emily. This decision symbolizes a fresh start and a chance for her to carve out a new identity, in the midst of the overwhelming grief surrounding Alison’s disappearance.

Meanwhile, Emily, driven by her insatiable curiosity, becomes fixated on uncovering the contents of Gogo’s letter. She goes to great lengths to track down the man and nearly breaks into his apartment in her desperate pursuit of answers.

Her boyfriend, Josh, notices her erratic behavior and finds her at home during work hours. Emily is forced to confess that she has been sacked from her job, adding another layer of tension to their relationship.

However, Josh’s suspicions go beyond Emily’s job loss. He confronts her about the cab driver, convinced that she is having an affair.

Emily vehemently denies the accusation, insisting that she has been faithful. Despite her denial, Josh senses that she is hiding something and threatens to end their relationship, fully aware of her lies.

At a meal with Emily’s parents, the atmosphere appears pleasant at first. They express their pride in Emily’s achievements.

However, Emily’s emotions get the better of her, and she admits that she has lost her job and stopped seeing her therapist. She reveals her profound need to uncover the truth about what happened to Alison, blaming her parents for giving up on the investigation.
