The unsurprising but still tragic news of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser closing sent Disney and Star Wars fans on a whirlwind. But could the failed Star Wars hotel still be saved by the likes of Din Djarin and Boba Fett?

To recap, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is an immersive but very expensive experience, located at Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios Park. Your stay at the Galactic Starcruiser was a new experience at Disney, taking guests on a, cruise in space of sorts, where they could meet new characters while watching encounters between the likes of Rey, Kylo-Ren, and Chewbacca.

The experience was scheduled but allowed guests to choose how they wanted to enjoy their stay (working with the First Order, against it, etc.), with a plethora of activities to enjoy including lightsaber training. Trouble is, complaints started rolling in rather quickly about the experience not meeting expectations, especially for the very large price tag.

The Galactic Starcruiser would make for an excellent one-time experience but that was it. It didn’t provide much incentive for repeated visits.

Can Din Djarin be the future for the failed Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser?

And so, the grand Star Wars hotel will be closing its doors this September. As to what will happen next, no one knows as of yet, however, we’re wondering if the more popular Star Wars characters could save it.

Or at least, breathe new life into the failed hotel that had so much potential. It’s not all that shocking to see that Rey and Kylo Ren are not as popular as original Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia or Han Solo.

They are definitely not as popular at Mandalorian Din Djarin, Grogu, Boba Fett or Fennec Shand. These characters became excellent additions to the growing Star Wars universe, to the point where you can’t escape all the merchandise surrounding them.

Already, these characters have been making public appearances at Galaxy’s Edge in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland much to the happiness of fans. So why not have them play a bigger role in the abandoned hotel?

Could the hotel be reimagined as a space port, where guests can walk in and see The Razor Crest, the N-1 Starfighter or even The Firespray Gunship getting modifications or repairs done, while the characters hang around and interact with guests? Maybe Peli Motto can be there to help with repairs, while her droids roam around?

Then, out of the blue, there can be a dramatic, live performance battle scene? Another place to eat at Galaxy’s Edge would be nice as well.

Perhaps after the live performance, those who made reservations can enjoy a meal in a more stylized restaurant that fits the world of The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett? Keep in mind these are very basic ideas, but there is a lot of potential.

As Star Wars continues to grow on the Disney Plus platform, who knows what can happen to the future of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
