Upon the release of the Bridgerton prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, fans of both the Netflix show, book series, and historical romance dramas fell in love with Charlotte and George. The future king and queen of England had a complicated yet passionate marriage, that was far from easy.

In the spinoff, audiences got to meet younger versions of Charlotte, Lady Danbury, George, and even Violet Bridgerton. Now that the prequel has concluded, we’re curious if its success will lead to more Bridgerton spinoffs.

We compiled a short list of three spinoffs we’d love to see in the near future. Let’s begin!

1. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story season 2

We’ve made it abundantly clear that Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story ended in the best way possible. The show was able to tell a powerful and tragic story about the future king and queen and the beginning of their marriage.

While inner turmoil occurring within palace walls is nothing new in the historical drama department, Queen Charlotte was still able to tell a completely new story about characters we’ve come to know on Bridgerton. That said, we’re not against a season 2, especially considering there is so much more to the story that can still be told.

We already discussed some of these aspects, but to quickly summarize, we’d love to know how the show would cover the impending Revolutionary War, what becomes of Lady Danbury after she decides to never marry again and how Charlotte and George’s marriage unfolds.

2. Violet and Edmund

During Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, audiences got insight into Lady Danbury’s past, which included her less than stellar marriage to a much older man and a short lived but steamy affair with Lord Ledger (Violet’s father). Violet, being the youngest of the trio (Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte) has not been announced yet, but already has high aspirations for the world and her own future.

We know from Bridgerton that she does marry Edmund Bridgerton and the couple has 8 children before Edmund tragically passes away. Even though we only know how Edmund died, and how it affected the family afterward, we learned through words and actions how loving and virtuous Violet and Edmund’s marriage was.

We do not know how they met or even what Edmund’s personality is truly like. Did their marriage start off on the right foot or was it full of trials and tribulations?

3. The First Season

We’re assuming that the season, where all the eligible ladies and gentlemen meet at various parties and gatherings in the hopes of getting married, does not exist during Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. As it is never mentioned, not once, it seems Charlotte is the first queen to begin this tradition.

We’d love to see the first season to ever occur in the ton, and how it compares to what we later see and know in Bridgerton. Which notable families took part in the season?

Who was the first Diamond of the First Water? What scandals took place?

What inspired Charlotte to do this in the first place? Considering marriage is the most important role for any woman of that time, this would be an ideal spinoff that will surely appeal to a lot of viewers.
