How many Emmy nominations did HBO’s The Last of Us receive?
As we look over the list of all of this year’s Emmy nominees, we were pleasantly surprised to see HBO’s The Last of Us. Not because we doubt the quality of the hit show based on the video game of the same name, but because of how many nominations they received.

With so many nominations, we’re curious as to the competition. The Last of Us will be competing with the likes of Succession, The White Lotus, Andor and Bad Sisters.
Admittedly, these are also fantastic shows, but The Last of Us may have achieved the once unachievable. It’s been years since we’ve had a successful film or television show based on a video game.
What happens in The Last of Us season 1?
It honestly got to the point where it seemed impossible. But perhaps we’ll be seeing more video game adaptations in the future.
The Last of Us, which is greenlit for season 2, told the story of a post-apocalyptic dangerous world infested with infected, fungus zombies. Although there are survivors, they find themselves either on their own or living within the walls of secure places run by FEDRA.
The Fireflies fight back against FEDRA but need Ellie, as she’s immune to the bite of the infected. Joel is tasked with taking her to The Fireflies after a series of events and together they face foes, both infected and human alike, while bonding in ways they never imagined.
After the chaotic events of the season 1 finale, how will season 2 begin? Will Joel face a dark fate in the next season?
In the meantime, while we wait for more news about the upcoming season, you can watch The Last of Us season 1 on HBO. Good luck to The Last of Us and all the nominees at this year’s Emmys!
