In the first episode of Ragnarok season 3, titled “War Is Over,” we jump right into a world on the edge of destruction.

Ragnarok is a big, bad event where everything goes bye-bye, and then things start all over again. We’ve had hints about this in the past few seasons, but is it finally going to happen this time?

Ragnarok season 3 episode 1 recap: The Shaky Balance of Power

In this world, things are teetering on the edge. Magne, our young hero who’s like Thor, is still fighting the Giants. He’s using modern tricks to try and get Fjor and the gang arrested for their bad deeds.

But this causes problems among the group of god-like beings, and they start arguing. Meanwhile, the Giants are getting even stronger under Fjor’s rule.

Mjolnir, Thor’s famous hammer, has been gathering dust on a shelf. But now, it’s calling out to Magne.

This means Magne is about to face off with the Giants. Oh, and there’s this secret serpent that Laurits has been raising, thanks to a deal he made with the Giants in season 2. Laurits goes to check on it, and it’s eating a whole duck! Yikes.

Ragnarok season 3 episode 1 recap: Breaking the Truce

Time goes by, and Magne decides to use the hammer again. He throws it, and it smashes a big piece of rock onto the power plant near Jutul Industries.

Laurits talks to Magne and says he just messed up the truce, so war is coming soon. But regular folks are clueless about the big fight that’s brewing.

Magne meets Marit, an electrician trying to fix the power outage in Edda. At first, she doesn’t want to help in court. But when Magne mentions her late wife, Elisabeth, who died a few seasons ago, Marit changes her mind.

Sadly, she doesn’t make it through the night; Fjor kills her to stop her from testifying. They make it look like a silly accident while changing a lightbulb.

Ragnarok season 3 episode 1 recap: Saxa’s Tough Times

Over in another part of town, Saxa is basically a servant in her own family. She has to do what her brother says, and she even has to wear a neck brace.

While serving drinks, she hears her family talking about expanding Jutul Industries. Fjor is really keen on making his dad’s legacy bigger.

Fjor visits Laurits and warns him because Magne is using the hammer again, and that messes up their deal. But Laurits isn’t too worried; he reveals that his serpent is growing stronger.

Magne is furious when he finds out what happened to Marit. He goes to Jutul Industries and confronts Fjor and Ran. He knocks Fjor down while holding Mjolnir and tells them they broke the truce.

Magne has had enough and decides that there’s no more truce. He also figures out that Laurits is on the wrong side.

Ragnarok season 3 episode 1 recap: Laurits Makes a Move

With their parents back home, Laurits packs his bags and goes to the Jutul house. He wants to move in with them because his last name is now Jutul. But Ran isn’t having it, and she kicks him out. Now, Laurits is all alone with his pet serpent.

The stage is set for a big showdown. Magne feels more alone than ever, and his enemies are getting stronger. This means lots of drama is coming our way.

In this exciting first episode of Ragnarok season 3, we’re in for a wild ride. As the tension rises and secrets unravel, the fate of the world hangs in the balance
