In the seventh installment of Lawmen: Bass Reeves, the weight of the world is on the legendary lawmen’s shoulders. In this episode, Bass reaches a boiling point and now there is no turning back.

The inspirational pinnacle of justice is caught between two wars: The war on justice and the war his people are still fighting today. Sally Reeves (Demi Singleton) continues to be a showstopper in every episode.

Though her scenes are limited in this portion of Lawmen: Bass Reeves, she’s hard to take your eyes off of and I’m immensely impressed by her performance. She’s a young breakout star I cannot wait to see more of in the future.

Sally is a daddy’s girl who remains extremely close to her father, even though he is constantly away. The other children treat Bass as a mere shadow whether he is around or not.

Jennie and Bass still have a beautiful relationship even with the distance but watch out because trouble is brewing. The need Bass has to seek revenge against Pierce could fare to be too much for Jennie this time.

You won’t meet a more loyal wife but just like Bass, everyone has their breaking point. Bass Reeves cannot get the words of Esau Pierce out of his mind.

It has him in a bad place. So much so that it forces him to act in anger and not with his usual intelligence.

The seventh episode portrays Bass Reeves in a way we haven’t seen before but every man has his breaking point. The walls come crashing down on Reeves and though he is second guessing his honor, it will have the audience rooting for him to get through to the other side.

With only one more episode left to go, it will be exciting to see how this part of the Bass Reeves’ story wraps up. But don’t look for it to be the end of the line for this lawman just yet.

Director Damian Marcano hinted that instead of a season 2, there would likely be more anthology series for Bass Reeves.
