The 2023-24 TV season will go down as one of the most unusual television seasons we’ve ever seen.
Due to the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes, broadcast networks were forced to shake up their fall schedules in major ways. As filming wasn’t able to begin over the summer, the majority of broadcast’s scripted dramas and comedies were pushed back to 2024.
As a result, this fall has become one of the first years in over a decade where hits such as NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, Chicago Fire, and more broadcast mainstays haven’t begun their new seasons in September or October.
The good news is that Hollywood is back up and running now that the strikes have come to a close and all of our favorite scripted broadcast series will soon be coming back with new episodes. The bad news is that for many shows, their upcoming seasons will be their last.
While the season might not have even begun, the broadcast networks have already been making major movies with several hit series announced to be ending with their new seasons.
2024 will see many hit TV shows coming to an end including Blue Bloods and these six other incredible shows confirmed to air their final episodes over the course of the new year.
