Prime Video is known for adapting some of the best books into groundbreaking shows such as The Summer I Turned Pretty and Off-Campus. Unfortunately, the top September release that book lovers are waiting for isn’t a show. Instead, Ali Hazelwood’s The Love Hypothesis was created as a Prime Video rom-com film. So, what shows do Prime Video fans have to look forward to in the first fall month of 2026?
Unfortunately, there aren't any new releases from Prime Video based on books on the way in September, but we have three good shows to watch.
Despite that shock, one of their leading series is a spin-off of the popular series Reacher. The other two bring families of different backgrounds to center stage. I’m eager to see what these new original series are all about when they premiere this month.
Neagley
Release Date: Sept. 16, 2026
Show Type: Spin-off of Reacher
Prime Video's Reacher found success on the streamer in 2022 and, as of 2026, has run four seasons. Following the season 4 finale, the spin-off, Neagley, will premiere on September 16 with all eight episodes.
As if it couldn't get better for Reacher fans, Amazon shared that there's a Neagley book in the works:
"The first-ever Neagley novel, titled Zero Margin, will be released in March 2027 from Reacher creator Lee Child and author Yasmin Angoe."
Book fans may be getting a surprise after all; it'll just be six months later.
Maria Sten returns as Frances Neagley in the leading role in Neagley. After learning all she could as Jack Reacher's protege, she's now a private investigator in Chicago.
From the series description, it seems the writers have dropped our main character into the middle of a dangerous situation: "After Neagley learns her beloved friend from the past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice".
In addition to Sten's return, Alan Ritchson will be guest starring as Jack Reacher, among the new faces joining Neagley's life in Chicago.
A Love Other Than Yours

Show Type: Korean romantic series
The new Korean romantic series, A Love Other Than Yours, explores a woman's changing emotions after reaching ten years in her relationship.
Despite the relationship maturing from "burning passion to quiet trust," Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin) finds herself questioning if she should marry Namgung Ho (Seo Kang-joon) or another man. He believes their next step is marriage, while her heart is swaying her towards another man.
On top of her film director career setback, Mi-do must decide if she wants to marry Ho or let him go. Can they decide to do this together, or will she leave him for good?
Honor Thy Mother
Release Date: Sept. 10, 2026
Show Type: Filipino Thriller Drama
If you love seeing estranged family members work together to beat something bigger than themselves, Honor Thy Mother is the show for you.
Prime Video's new Filipino family drama thriller follows a powerful CEO and her estranged daughter, who are forced to come together after becoming entangled in a deadly corporate conspiracy. Sharon Cuneta and Barbie Forteza star as estranged mother and daughter, Diana and Partrica Aragon.
Although there's not many shows premiering in September on Prime Video, these three shows are sure to be interesting.
