Crew Girl season 1, episode 4 opens with Teagan working to get the guys in shape, training alongside them on the rowing machines. After the workout, Cam approaches Teagan again, hoping to get the chance to ask her out, but before he can ask her out, Josh butts into the conversation again. Cam asks what’s up with Josh being friendly as she says he’s not that bad. He picks up on them acting different and asks if something is going on between them and loses his chance to ask her out in worrying too much about Josh in the moment.

Later, Britney and Amber crash the team dinner as they prepare to carb-load for the race. Crabby is in his head about letting the team down as Teagan assures him he’s got this and invites him to join her for a pre-run as Ryder helps get the guys hyped. Baloo steps away to FaceTime his boo and puts on a rival shirt to snap a photo. When Britney walks in, she's shocked by the sight and quickly takes a photo of him to leverage as blackmail as she orders him to break up with the guy he's seeing.

After her encounter with Baloo, Josh pulls her aside and finds that she's still mad at Josh for ditching her at the party and not getting invited to the afterparty with the crew. She points out how even Teagan got an invite, as Josh assures her it was just an accident that she wasn’t invited. She asks him what is going on, and he admits that he wonders what would happen if his life blew up and whether it would be so bad not to be a Regis. She assures him he’s got this and makes it clear that she only picks winners as he excuses himself to get a drink. Yeah, this isn't going to end well for them.

Following the conversation with Josh, Amber asks Britney what her plan is as she quips about keeping your enemies close, clearly referring to Teagan. We see her plan begin to take shape as she invites Teagan for a girls’ night under the guise of a fresh start now that they’re part of the same world.

While Britney is plotting, Madison asks Cam about how things went with Teagan, and he starts to go on about the Josh of it all. That's when she quickly points out how there is too much Josh in his story. She tells him to apologize and not mention Josh as they prepare to head out for the meet.

When they arrive at the hotel for the meet, Ella is reminded that it’s her anniversary, and Teagan makes up some plans. Baloo finally meets his guy IRL in the hotel lobby, as he wanted to see him before the race. The pair's connection is just as magnetic in person, but their interaction is cut short by Baloo's teammates and they go their separate ways.

After settling into the hotel, Teagan bumps into Josh in the stairwell and tells Josh about having a girls’ date with Britney. He’s surprised, as the pair don’t seem to like one another. He then awkwardly questions whether something is different between them before they head out in different directions without fully addressing the elephant in the room: the feelings they seem to be developing.

Britney presents Teagan with a major decision about her future

Teagan arrives at Britney's room as she asks Teagan whether any sparks are flying with anyone on the team, and she mentions how they spend most of their days rowing. Britney asks about Cam, and Teagan hints to crushing on him before Britney asks about Josh. Teagan realizes what this whole girls’ date is really about, and Britney admits she wants Teagan gone, but Teagan assures her she’s not going anywhere. That's when Britney offers to pull some strings to get Teagan into another school with a top-notch rowing program, and, surprisingly, Teagan asks her to make the call to set up the meeting.

On her way back to her room, Teagan bumps into Josh and mentions how Britney thinks there is something between them. He asks if that’s true and whether she really doesn’t think about the night at the docks. They agree to just be friends, as he has a girlfriend, and Teagan notes she may have something with Cam.

Elsewhere, Baloo and his guy meet up by the lake and feed the fishes together. Things quickly escalate as they begin kissing, but they have to race off when they hear others approaching. It’s Perry and Noah who are throwing shade at Baloo for not trying. After overhearing the conversation, he questions why everyone thinks he doesn’t try when he does try. His hookup points out how it sucks when people don’t notice how hard you’re working and points out he’s reliable, and that’s why they take him for granted. The pep talk is exactly what Baloo needed as he pulls his date in for a kiss.

Ella bumps into Hayden at the hotel bar flirting with a woman, and she asks if it’s hard dating again. He admits it can be difficult and asks if she’s thinking of putting herself out there again as he invites her to join him for a movie date. She admits she’s not ready just yet, and he’s understanding of how it takes time to let go as the pair part ways for the night.

A Crew Girl love triangle continues to form

The following morning, Cam bumps into Teagan and apologizes for the Josh thing as he finally asks her if she’d like to hang out with him sometime. He invites her to check out this Mexican food truck. She accepts his offer, but then she races off for her appointment, which leaves Cam feeling unsure of what just happened.

Teagan impresses the coach, and she invites her out to join them for training and makes it clear that if she joins their program, she can no longer be cox for Easton. In taking the appointment, she forgets that she agreed to meet with Crabby for a run, leaving him waiting around for her to show up.

She eventually catches up with Crabby, and they go on a run. After the run, the pair bumps into the coach from the other school, who informs her the transfer was approved. Crabby confronts Teagon on how she was going to cut bait and leave them, as he remarks that she never cared about them and was only in this for herself.

At the meet, Teagan chats with Crabby and points out it’s not personal. He points out how she's brought the team together and reminds her they’re a team of nine; she’s still a rower. He understands that sometimes the lead singer has to leave the band and go solo, but he wishes she could row and still cox with them.

Teagan rallies the guys, and they actually pull out the win at the regatta. After the win, Crabby asks if Teagan is going to stay, and she decides not to leave.

On their way to the celebration party, Josh gets a call from Dr. Monroe about scheduling a follow-up test. It turns out the pills were beta blockers, and he has a serious heart condition, as she makes it clear that if he doesn’t take his treatment seriously, she’ll have to tell his parents.

At the party, Britney congratulates Teagan on getting the spot, but Teagan informs her she turned it down and is staying with the team, much to Britney's displeasure. Madison tries to nudge Cam to talk to her, as he admits he doesn’t want to screw this up and asks why she can’t be easy to talk to like her—the look on Madison’s face suggesting she sees him as more than a friend, even if he does not see her that same way. Cam then approaches Teagan and asks her out on the date more formally, as she enthusiastically agrees.

Elsewhere, Ella’s room service arrives, and she realizes she’s going to eat alone with Teagan at the party. She calls David, knowing he wouldn’t answer, to leave him a message telling him about how she’s sitting in this beautiful room after watching their beautiful daughter win, and all she can think about is where he is. She tells him he doesn’t get to haunt her anymore, as she’s done. She hangs up and then goes to Hayden’s room and invites him to grab a drink.

Back at the party, Josh arrives as the team is celebrating, and Teagan hands over the cup to him. Rather than taking it and joining the celebration, he tells her he doesn’t want to just be friends before the guys all pull him into the celebration, and he leaves Teagan speechless and with a lot to think about.
