Halfway through Peacock’s Crystal Lake season 1, my mind and heart will never recover. Each storyline captures my attention and won’t let go. Whether it is a rageful murder or a heartfelt scene, I’m on the edge of my seat.
In episode 4, two couples committed to their romantic feelings, while one worked out; the other created a scene that will stick with me forever. Pam’s romantic scene gave her an alibi for Grace’s mom’s murder. Dorf uncovered what happened to Willow. In episode 5, Levon has a lot of work to explain Dorf going rogue and stumbling upon a body.
In episode 5, Brianna continues her investigation as things in Crystal Lake get crazier. She tracks down Doctor Landal as he’s walking his dog. He immediately tells her he doesn’t want to talk. Then Ed and Benny’s names stop him in his tracks. Their corpses were just identified in Jeresy. He has no comment, but that doesn’t make her back down from finding out the truth about Bellflower Corporation. He warns her to stay away from him and not to get involved in Ed’s issues before he stomps away. As she’s leaving, someone documents her movements with a camera.

Ralph’s property
After Dorf finds Willow’s skinned body, he stumbles outside and barfs. He looks up to Ralph, who is pointing a shotgun at him. Due to Dorf coming back there without a warrant and trespassing and failing to identify himself, Ralph is in his right to shoot. Dorf doesn’t back down from questioning him about the girl hanging in his shed. Ralph doesn’t know what he’s talking about until Dorf points his flashlight onto the body. When Ralph lowers his gun, Dorf springs into officer mode and holds him at gunpoint. He handcuffs a confused Ralph.
He brings him to the station and lays into him about the girl’s body. Dorf tries to explain his reasons to Levon that Ralph was drooling over Willow when she came into the diner. Levon has had enough and orders Dorf to go to the morgue to see if anyone knows who the girl is. When Levon gets onto Ralph for laughing, Ralph takes a chance and tells him there’s something in the woods. Despite everything he and Enos have seen in the woods, Levon has to believe it all for any of it to matter, especially if Ralph wants to be cleared of these crimes.
Claudette rambles on about her spiritual paths and sex when Pam sees Levon drive up to the camp. He gathers up the hippies and tells them they positively identified the body this morning. They immediately want to know if they at least caught the guy. Levon steers it back, needing to know where they were the last couple of days. Barry overhears Levon and tells him they were here at the camp helping fix it up. He reminds them to stay put, and then his heart breaks when the hippies remember Willow is in the past tense now.
Pam catches up with Levon as he’s heading out to go through the evidence. He gets suspicious when she offers to meet up later tonight for pie so he doesn’t have to carry it alone. Finally, he tells her he did like that she threw herself at him, but he was confused about it since it was in the middle of the night, out of the blue. He’s confused by the push and pull and can’t do this right now with her. He promises to call her when things settle.

Hippies want to leave
After the hippies find out about Willow, they get spooked. When Grace comes up later. They’re packing up their campsite with plans to leave soon. They have people waiting on them to build a new society. Grace begs to go with them because she feels connected to them too. They tell her she’s not alone anymore and that she better pack.
Back at Camp Crystal Lake, she’s packing when Pam comes and looks for her. She tries to explain that the hippies were conning her and to stay away from them. Grace doesn’t want to believe Pam’s thoughts about Harmony and her friends. She doesn’t need Pam to protect her because she’s not her mom and can take care of herself. Pam continues to latch on and wants to do anything for Grace. It only pushes her away.
New campers arrive at Camp Crystal Lake as Barry pulls away from Claudette. That night, Pam finds out Barry isn’t with his campers, and a boy thinks he saw something in the woods. Pam believes even more that Jason is still alive. Grace arrives at the hippie campsite to find out where Barry is. He’s making out with Harmony by the fire and then takes him into the van. Then, the next morning, Grace tells Claudette what she saw. This leads Claudette to confront Harmony to fight for her man. She almost agrees with her but decides not to back down as she stomps off.
Claudette confronts Barry while he’s teaching. He doesn’t want to meet up with her tonight because he plans to see Harmony. After all of this, Claudette makes a mistake by telling Pam she was having sex when Jason drowned last summer. Later on, her payback is laid out in front of her when Grace takes three drugs from the hippies and grabs a knife. She thinks she’s saving Jason, but she’s killing Barry and Claudette as they’re making out in the boathouse loft. Pam goes in and pulls the knife away from her. With the ghostly encouragement from Jason, "Kill them, Mommy," Pam finishes the job and works on fixing this for Grace.
