Assane must find a way to save his daughter in season 4, episode 4 of Netflix's Lupin.

The episode opens with Adele in police custody. Guedira tells the young thief that they've got her on a slew of criminal charges. She seems unfazed until her smile fades when Interpol is mentioned. As a result, Guedira decides to give her time to think about things before continuing his interrogation.

Outside the room, Guedira tells Assane that he and his son are free to go. A judge ordered his release, and the police commissioner dropped Raoul's charges. However, Assane still has some unfinished business.

He goes to see Juliette, who tells him that her father was opposed to her having a baby with a Black kid. Juliette ended up going through with the pregnancy anyway, but her father had the doctors lie and say the baby was stillborn. Meanwhile, he arranged for Adele to be dropped off at an orphanage in England. The Kapoors later adopted her.

Then, one night, Adele tracked Juliette down by hacking into Interpol's DNA database. The two reconnected over their shared love of music. From there, the two decided to frame Assane so he would start to be "true to himself."

Assane wants nothing to do with it. He finds it insane that Juliette and Adele planned everything. But Juliette stops him before he leaves. She says Adele needs his help. By uncovering her identity, Assane put a target on Adele's back. If she gets extradited to England, someone there will kill her.

Lupin takes a stand

Afterwards, Assane goes back to the shop. Ben notices that something is wrong and asks him about it. After a moment of silence, he tells Ben that Adele is his daughter and that he's going to break her out of jail. Ben is shocked. But after he processes the news, he reminds Assane that he has plans to take Raoul to Senegal. The master thief now has to find a way to cancel the trip without making it obvious.

Cut to the following day. Raoul and Assane are at the airport, about to leave, when the receptionist tells Assane that his passport has expired. With the trip effectively cancelled, Assane tells Raoul he'll make it up to him. But it's too late. The damage is done. Raoul is hurt and walks away in a huff.

Meanwhile, Sofia finally wakes up from her coma. After the doctor clears her, Guedira catches his partner up on everything that has happened while she's been out. Sofia has a flashback and tells Guedira that two different people were responsible for her fall.

Back in the prison, Adele receives a set of earphones from Assane. The two discuss the Treasure of the Kings of France. Assane doesn't think it's real, but Adele confirms the Pellegrinis are one of the four families who originally had the treasure. Now, members of the other families, called The Guardians, are after Adele.

Assane tells Adele that he'll get her out of there, but she has to forget about the treasure. She agrees, and he puts his plan into motion. It involves Assane taking Raoul on a father-son date to the opera, while Ben waits in disguise on the street.

But they also need to keep Guedira occupied. So Adele makes Lupina a red herring, telling Guedira he's using her transfer as a distraction to steal the diamond from the Opera-Comique.

Guedira falls for the trick, and by the time he realizes what's happened, Adele's escaped custody.

But Raoul is suspicious of the way his dad was acting while they were at the opera, so he breaks into the shop to investigate. There he confirms that Assane changed the date on his passport to make it seem expired.

Raoul is disappointed, yet again, thinking that his dad used him to pull off another job.

He decides to rebel by meeting up with his former cellmate. The man offers to take Raoul under his wing, but Raoul has to prove himself first. To do this, he picks the lock on an expensive car, and the group drives away.

Back at the police station, the police commissioner admonishes Guedira for leaving his post. He admits that he fell for Adele's lies, and the commissioner says she's taking him off the case. He begs for another chance, but the decision is final.

Meanwhile, Assane escorts Adele back to her house, where the two meet with Juliette. Assane reminds his daughter that she promised to forget about the treasure. But while they're talking, the garage Juliette just pulled into explodes, seemingly killing her instantly.
