Lupin season 4, episode 8, opens with Guillaume at the Guardians' fortress. Once inside, he talks to the other Guardians, who berate him for allowing Lupin to get too close. Guillaume assures them that everything is under control, but they want to install an emergency protocol. They give Guillaume 24 hours to get rid of Lupin once and for all, or else.
Meanwhile, Raoul says he went to the museum that day to see if the rumors were true about Lupin stealing the sapphire. He wasn't planning on attacking Belcakem, but he thought she was going to shoot Assane, so he pushed her.
Assane asks why he didn't tell him right away. Raoul says he tried, but Assane was never around. When he saw that Belcakem was awake, he panicked and tried to escape to Dakar. Claire asks Assane if he thinks the police will find out Raoul pushed Belcakem. He says yes but assures his son that they will fix this.
Afterwards, Guedira and Belcakem storm Claire's house, but don't find anyone there. However, they do find a note from Assane asking Guedira to meet him at the flower market. Alone.
The two meet up, and Assane tells Guedira that he can't let him arrest Raoul. Instead, he reveals that the Guardians are after him for finding the king's treasure. If Raoul gets arrested now, the police commissioner may use him to get to Assane. He asks Guedira to drop the charges just until they get the commissioner out of the way.

Assane puts one last plan into motion
Back at the shop, Assane tells everyone that neither Guedira nor the commissioner will let go. Their only option is to steal the treasure and leverage it to save Raoul. Claire is opposed, but everyone else is on board.
Meanwhile, Guedira tells Belcakem that he bugged the police commissioner's office. The sooner the commissioner is out of the picture, the sooner they can arrest Assane's son.
While they work on that, Assane briefs his family on his plan. If they can get the Guardians to think the treasure is in danger, they'll move it. But they need a way in. Assane proposes they raise the Seine. Half of the treasure consists of rare paintings, but the vault where they are kept isn't airtight. So, if there's a flood, water will get in.
The first step is to break into the watchtower near the Seine. Assane goes undercover as a customs officer and sneaks his way into the building. Once inside, Assane and Ben take over the control room and raise the Seine's water levels.
Guillaume watches news reports of intense flooding underground. Just then, the Guardians call in a panic. They want to move the treasure, but Guillaume says they would be playing right into Lupin's hands. But the Guardians feel they have no other choice and move to install their emergency protocol.
Guillaume contacts the police commissioner and tells her that Assane will make his move while the treasure is in transit.
Elsewhere, Guerdia and Belcakem show up at Claire's house to speak with Raoul, but he's not there. Guedira tells her that they have enough proof to take down the commissioner. With her gone, Raoul wouldn't have to hide anymore. He gives Claire his card and tells her to call him if she changes her mind.
Back at the fortress, Guillaume places the commissioner in charge of the transfer. She wants a front-row seat to the show and says she won't let Assane get away from her again. But while the treasure is in transit, Assane shows up on a horse and leads several of the police officers away from the truck.
He eventually comes to a dead end, with police officers on both sides. He uses his horse to jump the barricade and continue the chase.
Back at the fortress, a person can be heard yelling from the trunk of a car. A guard opens it to reveal the real police commissioner. She's been there the whole time. Meanwhile, Juliette put on a mask of the commissioner's face to pass as her and take control of the truck carrying the treasure.
When Guillaume tries to regain control of his surveillance system, Adele uses a drone to destroy his cameras. As a result, the Guardians make it clear that Guillaume is out of their organization.

Raoul makes his move
But just when it seems like they've won, Adele and Raoul are kidnapped by goons. Meanwhile, Juliette, Ben, Claire, and Assane meet to celebrate their victory but are interrupted by a call from Pellegrini. He tells them that they must bring him the treasure, or they will never see their kids again.
Assane decides to meet with Pellegrini alone and disables Ben's motorcycle. But the trio steals a car and goes to help him anyway.
Once there, Assane turns over the treasure. He tells Pellegrini that he's won and asks what more he wants from him.
The twist? Raoul's been working with Pellegrini. He tells his father he orchestrated everything. At first, he was looking for information on Adele, but then he decided to take revenge. He saw how happy Assane was with his "new life" and couldn't stand it. So he flew to Kuala Lumpur to get Pellegrini out of jail.
Raoul says it feels good to have someone finally be honest with him. Assane never did that for him. But he gives his father a choice. Die with Adele, or run away with him. Assane begs him to stop, but he refuses. So Assane decides to die with Adele.
But it turns out that it was all a trick. Adele was never going to die. Raoul says he's made his choice. He turns to say goodbye, but Guedira and Belcakem show up.
Belcakem tells him to stop, or she'll shoot, but he keeps walking. Assane, trying to save his son, steps in front of the bullet and gets shot. The episode ends with Lupin lying on the ground, bleeding out, while Raoul and Pellegrini make their escape.
Lupin is available to stream on Netflix.
