Just when Jackie thought things couldn’t get any better, a familiar face popped up in her Silver Falls fairy tale. As things get heated between Cole and Jackie, they are interrupted by Richard’s arrival, who brings along Jackie’s childhood friend Elliot.
The duo practically grew up together in New York with close family ties and similar lifestyles. Elliot tells Jackie that he’s in Silver Falls as Richard’s assistant to gain experience while he takes a gap year. Jackie is naturally over the moon meeting her best friend, but the same can’t be said for Cole. He immediately goes into defensive mode, finding every bit of Jackie’s interaction with Elliot annoying.
However, Jackie doesn’t see it that way. She sees Elliot as a huge reminder of who she was before her family’s death. While Elliot seems friendly enough, Cole keeps giving him the cold shoulder, but Jackie melts the ice by inviting Elliot on a hike with her and Cole. He reluctantly agrees, but it’s obvious that things are about to get awkward for Jackie in My Life with the Walter Boys season 3.
An unexpected visitor complicates things
Jackie confides in Grace about her being intimate with Cole and Elliot’s arrival. She confesses that Elliot reminds her of the life she used to live, and she’s afraid that the longer she stays in Silver Fall, the quicker her former self will disappear. She also expresses concern about doing the deed with Cole, only to have her whole experience ruined because she wasn’t good enough.
Being the good friend she is, Grace comforts Jackie and gives her confidence that if they both love each other, nothing else matters. Jackie later meets up with Richard and shows him her plans for the community space. They share a tender moment in which Richard feels proud of Jackie’s progress and her ambition. So, he presents her with one final gift her parents left her.
Richard tells Jackie that her parents put aside funds for an educational trip to Greece. It’s a sort of traditional cultural immersion trip that her parents wanted their children to experience. Jackie doesn’t immediately agree, but Elliot’s excitement over his trip to Greece fills Jackie with hope
Jackie, Cole, and Elliot later set out on their planned hike, which turns into a disaster for the happy couple. Initially, Cole feels left out with Jackie and Elliot’s talk of Ivy League schools and their future academic plans. They talk about Elliot’s eight-year plan to Harvard Law, and it starts to irritate Cole.
However, things get worse when Elliot casually lets slip the details about Jackie’s trip to Greece. This revelation sets Cole off, and he lashes out at Jackie for not telling him, and the two end up fighting over their differences.
Cole gets ready for his first race
The Walter household gears up for Cole’s first-ever car race, but he ends up uninviting his parents. He shares his concern that he wouldn’t be able to concentrate and would keep worrying about them if he knew they were there. He asks them to sit it out just this once so that he can control his nerves. Katherine and George feel disappointed, but they understand Cole’s concerns.
Everyone shows up at the race to support Cole as he gets ready to go up against Danvers Stacey, who is a young yet seasoned driver. He feels nervous but is able to calm down when Alex shares his first experience with Bronc riding. This brief yet meaningful interaction between the boys shows that no matter their differences, the brothers will always be there to support each other.
On the other side of things, Alex and Kiley get into a fight because the latter tried to set him up on a double date. The two argue, and Kiley defends herself by saying that she knows how bad it feels to be a third wheel, and she didn’t want Alex to feel left out when she’s with Dylan. However, Alex fails to appreciate her concern and accuses her of thinking that he is so pathetic that he can’t be by himself. He later joins Wylder and the other cowboys for a drink.
As for Cole, he came real close to his first win, but the rush of it was enough to rejuvenate whatever it was that he had been missing since he quit football. He feels happy, excited, and most of all really in love with Jackie; that’s why he goes straight to her from the track and kisses her in front of everyone. He tells her he doesn’t care about anyone and just wants to be with her.
From the far side of things, Mr. and Mrs. Walter enjoy Cole’s race and spend much-needed quality time with each other. Katherine tells George she’s afraid that they’ll grow apart, but George reassures her that it would never happen.
The episode comes to a close with a giddy Jackie and Cole as she shows him around the store that will soon be a community space for teens. They talk about their fight, their expectations, and how lucky they are to be with one another. As they kiss tenderly, their passion consumes them, and they finally sleep together.
