Jackie and Cole are on cloud nine after the events of the previous episode in My Life with the Walter Boys season 3. They finally spend the night together, and things couldn’t have been more perfect for Jackie. However, the more time she spends with Cole, the less proactive she becomes in other parts of her life.
Jackie’s friends quickly realize that she’s too much under the "Cole Effect," especially after she forgets to plan Grace’s birthday party. Although she makes up for it at the last minute, the effort is bare minimum, and that makes both Jackie and Grace a bit disappointed. However, to make things right, Jackie promises to throw Grace a high school party that she’ll never forget.

Hannah Walter makes her entrance
In the Walter household, Danny keeps being awkward with Erin because of his rejection from college. However, when he gathers the courage to tell her, they are interrupted by the arrival of a surprise guest. Danny notices a van driving up to the ranch. Everyone comes out to see Hannah Walter making her grand entrance. Hannah is George’s sister and Isaac and Lee’s mother. She left the boys with her brother and hasn’t seen them for a while until now.
While George is ecstatic to see his sister back, the same can’t be said for the boys. They obviously feel awkward with their mother suddenly dropping in on them as if nothing happened. This makes Katherine worry about the boys, especially when Hannah promises to stay permanently this time to take care of them.
George and Katherine discuss the consequences of Hannah popping in and out unannounced. But George defends his sister, saying that she was always different and even their parents had a hard time dealing with her. However, if she has decided to come, they will have to support her for Isaac and Lee’s sake.
Still, to make Katherine feel better, George talks to Hannah about her plans. That’s when she tries to explain her side of things and how she was in a bad place when she had the boys. Hannah loved being free, and when she met her sons’ father, he was a musician, and they had plans to travel the world.
But their plans came to a halt when Hannah got pregnant, and the couple eventually ran out of money. Her partner decided to join the military, and Hannah was stuck at a base raising two kids by herself. The pressure of being tied down suffocated her, and she just bailed because she felt like she wasn’t a good mother.
She confesses to George that she wants to try being a mother, and that’s why she’s back. She later has a conversation with Katherine as well, who isn’t as understanding as George. She straight out asks Hannah about her intention with the boys and how she's going to be different this time.
A teary Hannah thanks Katherine for taking care of her boys and admits that she wants to get back in their life. She informs her that she’s moving back to Silver Falls and plans on taking up a job and eventually an apartment for her and the boys to move in.

Jackie plans a birthday party for Grace
After learning that her plan was a major flop, Jackie asks Grace what she really wants for her birthday, and Grace replies that she wants a typical high school party. Upon hearing her best friend's request, Jackie immediately recruits Cole’s help, who suggests using Richard’s place for the party since he’s out of town. Jackie hesitates but eventually agrees and asks Cole to invite everyone he knows.
Cole goes all out in helping Jackie plan Grace’s birthday party, from getting the cake to inviting the cool posse. On the other hand, Alex enjoys a rodeo competition, but he still struggles to fit in with the rest of the crew. Wylder and the others dare him to get a matching tattoo and even force him to drink with them. To avoid everything altogether, Alex ends up inviting the cowboys to Grace’s party.
As expected, Grace’s party is a big hit, but while everyone drinks, dances, and makes out, Danny and Erin slip out of the crowd. Danny finally tells Erin about his Juilliard rejection, and she immediately switches to the extremely supportive girlfriend mode.
She encourages him to believe he’ll be able to achieve all his dreams and that they’ll live a happy life together forever. These words move something in Danny, and he blurts out a marriage proposal for Erin. But to his and the viewers' surprise, instead of being dramatic, Erin immediately agrees.
Back at the party, things go out of control when some kids break Richard’s expensive table and puke all over his carpet. Cole immediately shuts down the party, and the two end up cleaning the place. However, the worst was yet to come.
While cleaning, the two hear a commotion outside and head out to see a drunken Alex getting a tattoo at the back of a truck with his rodeo crew. Cole and the boys have a heated exchange, and it almost immediately turns into a fist fight. As things spiral out of control, the cops arrive and put Alex, Cole, and Jackie in the police car.
While the gravity of the situation registers to an extent for the teens, they believe they got away because their parents weren’t here. Unfortunately, as they look out the car, a pissed Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Richard stand outside the window, and all hell breaks loose for Jackie.
