D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event brings us the magic of movies and TV shows alike. My favorite part (so far) has to be the cast panels. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians panel not only previewed their new trailer, but the cast teased season 3's exciting highs and lows coming in November 2026. Although Leah J, our fiercely talented Annabeth, wasn't present due to filming The Cheetah Girls, the Percy cast brought the magic to the D23 stage. From old and new faces, fans were treated to character/cast dynamics that kept us laughing the entire hour.

Our panel host, Supes (Matt Ramos), kept the D23 panel exciting and hilarious as he asked questions to the producers/writers, new cast members, and returning cast members. He truly shined a light on the heart of the Percy Jackson universe. Through funny, heartfelt, and interesting questions, fans learned a bit more about what’s to come in Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3, or better known to the book world as Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse. No matter how you refer to the story, we are on the edge of our seats for any nuggets of detail the cast can share.

Grab your swords and quest gear, fellow campers.

Character dynamics will shift

We’ve watched this cast grow up on the set of Percy Jackson, and it feels unreal that we’re talking about season 3. After two successful seasons, season 3 is shaking up the character dynamics. We’re losing Annabeth’s complete involvement while gaining plenty of new and interesting characters. The dynamics sound so fun, and I already know I'll be on the edge of my seat the entire season.

Percy and Grover’s friendship dynamic has grown continually since the first season. Now, it has evolved into a bonded connection after season 2 and their separation. But I love that Aryan Simhadri is “excited for fans to see Percy and Grover talk more as friends instead of just mentor to mentee. Percy is coming into his own, with two quests under his belt.”

To help them prepare for a season of mostly them, “they used to run scenes together, improv, and cut each other off…” This season allowed them to bring more of their real-life dynamic into the show. I love how they joke that the writers wrote how they talk, and Jon Steinberg laughs with them about how it was easy since they never shut up. Just by this little bit of information, I already know season 3 is going to be a brotherly love type of season with crazy moments and hopefully some deep conversations.

Tamara returns as Thalia after she “exploded onto the scene” in season 2, as Supes mentions. After “going 100 percent” in her character, Tamara reveals that there were times she had to “apologize to Walker Scobell for screaming in his face and invading his personal space” during their scenes in season 3. Walker shares that these “screaming scenes” happened for three days in a row, and after every take, Tamara would apologize to him. Although Tamara felt bad for “yelling in a 17-year-old's face,” Walker brushes it off because that’s the scene they were doing.

The Titan’s Curse will show more texture to its beloved book characters. We’ve seen the show flesh out Percy and the gang over the last two seasons. Charlie makes a great point that “Luke isn’t so black and white in the show like he is in the books" from Percy’s shrewd point of view. Instead, he’s more in the gray area." Not only are we expanding on Luke’s villain traits, but also on him and Annabeth on Mount Othrys for most of the season.

Not only are we expanding on longtime characters, but we're also meeting di Angelo's siblings for the first time on screen. Olive and Levi both loved the “detailed set, especially Half-blood," but I loved how Olive noted how she and Levi prepared for weeks to build the “sibling dynamic between Bianca and Nico.” Due to that preparation and attention to learning her character, Olive teases that "she played the best Bianca she could play.”

Also joining the cast are Dafne Keen and Saara Chaudry, and D23 previews the first looks of their characters, Artemis and Zoe Nightshade. Saara mentions she got used to putting on her outfit and bow and arrow to bring Zoe to life. Building on that, Dafne teases that although “the fights are later in the season,” she can share that “they had a huntress house where they trained and learned archery and how to move as a pack.”

With all the new characters and Annabeth’s disappearance from the plot, Jon Steinburg teases that when the “Titans make an appearance," the war really starts to come into focus (after building up to it for two seasons). The Olympians are facing their own distortion. Due to them never having to worry about dying before, all the pressure is on the demigods.”

Percy Jackson cast tease the third season

Supes touches on where we find Percy at the beginning of season three. Walker shares his favorite thing about Percy: “Every time there’s an impossible thing, there’s not a question in his mind. He’s just going to do it.” In the trailer, when he sees Annabeth go over the edge, he goes for it.

This is the first time they’ve done this much of a season without Leah. “For six months, she was just gone, while we were shooting,” Walker noted. “It was weird. Getting used to being alone in the makeup trailer to getting used to Olive and Levi being in there.”

Not only are the stakes raised in season 3, but Jon Steinberg also touches on how our demigods lose their “center of gravity" that Annabeth had been. Forcing everyone to figure out how they are going to function without her.” I’ve gathered that things are quite a mess in season 3, but they won’t give up on finding Annabeth. With those “uncomfortable situations,” as Craig Silverstein mentions, Dan Shotz adds that those are the moments they really get to expand on from the books. After years of only Percy’s point of view, we finally get to see what Luke and Annabeth are going through.

There’s plenty more content to watch from the Percy Jackson and the Olympians D23 2026 panel, but I’ll end with my favorite segment. Supes asked the cast to finish this sentence: “Season 3 was the season where…” They blew it out of the water.

Luke and Annabeth are most likely the old friends reuniting since Charlie thinks of that first. While Aryan makes us tear up by saying we’ll say goodbye this season, Levi makes us smile as he reminds us there are a ton of hellos to say. Some of the biggest hellos are the di Angelo siblings (thank you, Olive), Craig promises us we’ll meet Betsy, while Dan teases the demigods finally being faced with all the Gods of Olympus.

Dafne touched on how love and loss inform all decisions, while Saara said the stars will align (is everything going to be okay?). Right as Saarmosta gave us hope, Jon crushed that by saying everyone may not make it out alive. I think the funniest tease of all is Walker hoping his enemies get what they deserve after hurting his face last season.
