Penelope finally speaks her mind in Bridgerton season 3 clip

For many, Valentine's Day is a holiday where we celebrate love. However, for others, in terms of Penelope Featherington from Netflix's Bridgerton, it could also be a time of heartbreak.

A clip from the upcoming new season of Bridgerton was released on Valentine's Day this year, revealing a less-than-stellar beginning of a new season in the ton. Penelope is done remaining quiet and composed, and her secret love, Colin Bridgerton, receives the brunt of her honest thoughts.

In the clip, she does not hold back on her frustrations and seems to blame Colin for it. As we recall, he openly told a group of bachelors that although he loves Penelope as a friend, he will not court her.

She overheard the conversation and left crying. Could this be why no man seems to have any interest in the young Featherington?

What happens in the clip from the upcoming Bridgerton season 3?

She does confess to Colin that she's on the road to being a spinster as this is her third season with no marriage prospects. Colin, ever the dense type, remains clueless as to why she seems so upset with him.

He attempts to have a rather friendly conversation with her, as they had before, but after his confession and time between seasons, Penelope may want to end their friendship entirely. But if we're being honest, we're rather hopeful that the young Bridgerton will open his eyes once he sees another man take an interest in Penelope.

From the several released images shared on Twitter, there may indeed be a man who sees Penelope for all she is and worth. But if we're equally honest, this will probably be the catalyst to bring Colin and Penelope together.

The big draw this season is that it's time for Colin Bridgerton to find love, meaning Benedict will have to wait just a little bit longer. Sorry Benedict.

For some time it's been hinted that it's time for Colin and Penelope to have their happily ever after, but the path might be more confusing and rougher than expected. Bridgerton season 3 airs Part 1 on May 16 and Part 2 on June 13.
