After a full (and heartbreaking) season of Ted Lasso, fans are wondering — is there even going to be a season 5? And what’s going to happen to this girl’s team? There are a lot of questions that you might have after everything that happened in the season 4 finale, “Being Alive.”
Here are the questions we have for a potential season 5 if Ted Lasso keeps going.
- Will the women’s team be successful?
- Will the men play a bigger role going forward?
- Will Roy and Keeley just…be gone from the show?
- Will Rebecca and Matteo actually get married?
- Will Ted ever get his second chance at love?

Will the women’s team be successful?
One beautiful thing to see in the finale of season 4 of Ted Lasso is that the Richmond women’s team sells out their home stadium. For most of the season, they’ve been playing on a smaller pitch or in a relatively empty stadium.
The main reason it sells out, in particular, is the team’s promotion, with drunk Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) screaming at people and asking, “Where are you?” I also think a big reason so many Richmonders showed up was that Mae (Annette Badland), who passed away in the penultimate episode, is honored this time around. Many fans loved the local woman, so they likely go to support her, too.
But does that mean that the crowds are going to stay? Is there an actual fanbase for the women’s team now? Rebecca still managed to keep the club in her hands thanks to her and Leslie’s (Jeremy Swift) plan. But will that mean success going forward?

Will the men play a bigger role going forward?
A major story point of the finale is that Roy (Brett Goldstein) is offered the head coaching position at Chelsea, his former club. After a long time of thinking, he decides to take it, knowing he has to risk things in life to succeed and that he deserves good things too. Ted (Jason Sudeikis) talks with Rebecca, and he presumably takes on the head coaching position again for the men’s team.
Ted does this initially to spend more time with his son, Henry (Grant Feely), during the off-season, and only becomes an assistant manager to the women’s team. Alice (Tanya Reynolds) has become the head coach. However, does this mean we’ll see the men’s team more? They do have a few cameos in the finale (which is amazing). But if Ted will actively be coaching them, will they return?

Will Roy and Keeley just…be gone from the show?
As mentioned before, Roy Kent takes on that coaching position, but another key reason he does so is because Keeley (Juno Temple) is pregnant, and he wants to provide for his new family. We’re shown the couple walking out of the club together, with Roy packing up his things.
But does that mean he’s just sort of… done there? Are we never going to see him or Keeley again? And speaking of Keeley, what about her business and everything she did specifically for Richmond? I can’t imagine Keeley being the kind of person who would stop working when she’s pregnant or when she has a kid. There’s no shame in doing that, but it doesn’t seem like something Keeley would do. So… is that it for her then, too?

Will Rebecca and Matteo actually get married?
Rebecca and Matthijs (Matteo van der Grijn) have been a bit on and off this season, mainly because Rebecca’s life is wild, which has messed up their dating schedule. However, Matthijs ends up trying to make time and settle down more in England to be with her.
The season ends with Rebecca proposing, and Matthijs says yes. We see them dancing in her office, looking extremely happy, as the show ends. But it also makes me worry, because I question whether they will actually get married or not. I honestly hope so, but these two always seem to run into some trouble with scheduling and spending time together.
All I know is that if season 5 happens, I'll be asking to see her wedding plan because that would be hysterical.

Will Ted ever get his second chance at love?
My last question is about Ted, because this man deserves love like everyone else. A big plot point of season 4 is Ted deciding to take the risk and get back out there on the dating scene after he and his ex-wife, Michelle (Andrea Anders), talk about it. They are good friends at this point, and even she says he deserves more.
But aside from one episode, we don’t really see Ted get to do that. He’s focused on his team and Henry, which is a good thing. But man, I really want to see him find his person, that other soul who matches his optimism and mindset. And I think that does exist somewhere in England.
