After two episodes of The Gentlemen season 2, Eddie has made quite the mess of things, though he's currently optimistic that he will be able to turn things around. Well, maybe he will. But considering the state of things, including the mild distrust Susie's feeling from being left in the dark on the new plan and killing people for Moretti, it's not looking so good.
The Gentlemen season 2 episode 3 begins with Eddie standing in a field and reflecting on killing the accountant. He imagines the deceased man standing beside him with a massive head wound. Geoff joins him and he snaps out of his nightmarish daydream. Eddie meets with his lawyer Ahmed to talk over his purchase of the MacDougall estate. He explains his family's personal history with the land.
Charly and Nanny ask Eddie to be Tarquin's godfather, which he happily agrees to, and the family pushes him to visit Freddy. While Charly wants to ask Geoff to be the other godfather, Nanny wants to aim higher with the king. Eddie and Susie again discuss the pros and cons of going against her father on the bill, but she's interrupted with a call from Jimmy with a problem at the farm.
Eddie and Susie deal with a disgruntled worker
Eddie and Susie head down to the weed farm and find Jimmy's workers have been moving at half speed. They learn that the workers are basically going on strike in solidarity with a colleague who had an averse reaction to a clinical trial and wasn't able to get care because of their benefits. Ned advocates for the workers to receive better benefits and payment.
After talking over their options, Eddie and Susie bring Ned a counteroffer, which is a final off and not negotiable. They either accept the offer or the whole staff gets fired. Ned gets pulled into a room with a gun put to his head to make threat clear. Either he accepts the terms and stays quiet or he gets killed. Well, let's just say he walked out of this one alive.
Susie meets with her father to catch up about business, but he asks about rumors that he's been hearing. Obviously, that spooks her a bit, but he's referring to Joe Green. He doesn't want her to get involved with him. While on the phone with Bella, Eddie once again hallucinates the accountant. Bella tells him that the accountant was telling him the truth about being innocent.
He was only a witness, and that's why Moretti needed him killed. But now they're concerned that Mr. Takashi hasn't been seen. Bella seems to pick up that something happened, but she won't say anything more to Moretti. Meanwhile, Eddie's still having trouble getting Simon MacDougall agree to the purchase of his estate. He tries a direct approach and learns that MacDougall's held a grudge.
MacDougall isn't thrilled that the Horniman family never RSVP'd to their invites, and he's heard the rumors about what happens at their house. He's not going to indulge Eddie's whims to buy whatever he wants, even for £19 million. Eddie makes it clear that he won't stop until he gets what he wants. Back at home, Ned's friend suggest getting revenge on Eddie and Susie by stealing weed.
Solving their problem by defying Bobby
Ned's van races off the property as Geoff and Charly take a walk, but they get away sight unseen. They present the barrels of weed, more than Ned had originally agreed to, to a buyer named Victor. Suddenly, Ned's working for the other side and agreeing to spilling secrets about the Glass operation. It's not going to take long for Eddie and Susie to sniff him out.
Susie warns Joe not to tell Jack about them hooking up, and like clockwork, Eddie alerts Susie to the missing barrels of weed in their inventory. Geoff happened to spot Ned and his associates rush away in the vans. Jimmy reveals that the weed that was stolen was experimental and not ready to hit the market. The product has severe side effects for the recipients.
The search for Ned begins, but he's already cleared out of his house. They realize he has been skimming product from them for much longer. While at the house, Eddie and Susie takes a call from Victor that's basically suggesting blackmail to get their weed back. Victor kills Ned and reprimands his worker for how they were going about getting money from Bobby Glass.
Eddie and Susie consult Bobby about the situation, and he suggests that they don't negotiate with Victor for fear of looking weak. He suggests catching them once they start moving their product and killing them all (though he says something about jungle drums that doesn't make sense). Susie takes Eddie's side that a war would be bad for business.
They decide to listen to Bobby but also take the meeting with Victor in order to be proactive. Once the meeting begins, Susie demands for the weed's return. Victor admits to killing Ned and offers his services to work with them. Eddie tosses his cigar on the ground, which appears to be the signal for a sniper to take out Victor's men. Susie threatens Victor to return their weed.
Well, another crisis adverted. Before Tarquin's baptism, Sabrina gives Charly a bird figurine from Geoff that she had given him when she was a child. The gift makes Charly cry and she asks Nanny to change their plans. The King no longer will be Tarquin's second godfather, allowing Geoff to step in. After the baptism, Eddie and Susie agree that it's time to round up some peers for their plan to work.
