Following the deadly shootout in the penultimate episodes, it's all led to this. The Gentlemen season 2 finale arrives on the heels of Eddie going on the run after his wedding ended with the death of his wife Bella, knowing that he was the target. More enemies threatened the lives of his family in search of him, and Susie's getting closer to the truth from her father.
The Gentlemen season 2 episode 8 begins with an angry Eddie embracing Moretti ahead of (or after, it's hard to tell) Bella's funeral. He's then in Geoff's house with one of the hired gunmen's testicles connected to three car batteries in an attempt to torture details out of him. The man admits that Bobby Glass hired him, but who knows if he was just trying to make the torture stop.
Eddie hands off a gun to various men, clearly conspiring with Moretti to kill Bobby. Susie meets with Jack and her team to get to the bottom of what happened. She appears to be considering another attempt to make contact with Eddie. Nanny meets with Eddie to move himself, Charly, and Tarquin off the estate for safety, which both Eddie and Charly vehemently shut down.
Susie reveals the truth about Bobby to Eddie
Eddie meets with Susie, Andy armed and nearby just in case. She opens the conversation with an apology about Bella, and he decides to go for a walk away from Andy. Susie asks who did it and offers to destroy them together. When Eddie asks if she was involved with her father, in return she asks if Andy has his gun trained on her. She denies any Glass involvement in killing Bella.
Susie reveals that her father bought Eddie's debt on the morning of his wedding and now owns it, which means he wouldn't want to kill him. That's obviously the secret and truth Bobby shared with Susie in the sauna. Bobby needs to keep Eddie alive. She tearfully insists that she didn't do this and Eddie calls Andy off. He takes Susie to the man they're holding captive in Geoff's cabin.
Again, he insists that he was hired by Bobby Glass. The man claims that he meant Susie Glass, which is obviously a lie because she's the one who asked the question. Eddie calls Stanley, who confirms that he sold Eddie's debt to Bobby. This confirmation makes Eddie realize he needs to call off the person he hired to come for Bobby and kill him.
Eddie tries to force Moretti to have his men stand down from killing Bobby, but the plan is already in motion, which is the man who the gun was delivered to at the prison. He's now in Bobby's sauna ready to kill him, but Eddie's waiting for him to take him down. Bobby walks in and the prison shoots him in the arm, but Bobby steals his shiv and repeatedly stabs the man to death.
"You don't own me" is all Eddie says to Bobby before walking out of the sauna, leaving Bobby to chuckle at himself. Even after everything that happened, Bobby insists to Susie that they need Eddie on their side, and he needs them. Stanley uses scripture to explain why he sold his debt to Bobby Glass and suggests Eddie still needs to fight his demons.
Who killed Bella in The Gentlemen season 2?
Still wherever he's been all season, Freddy calls his mother at the manor to check on everyone after having a bad dream. Sabrina reveals to Freddy that Bella was killed. Eddie and Geoff force the man they're holding captive to leave a message for the contact he has to set up a meeting. When the contact responds with messages that don't result a meeting, Eddie kills the man.
Susie explains to Eddie that the trap he was planning to set would have never worked in his favor. She tells him that he needs time to settle and promises that they will find the people responsible together. Charly breaks the news that she, Nanny, and Tarquin will be temporarily moving away from the manor, but she still supports him. Sabrina shares with Eddie how Freddy felt about hearing the news.
He's instantly suspicious that Freddy had even called or had any knowledge about the situation, even if from a dream. He remembers telling Freddy about Bella flying her seaplane to their honeymoon when he met with his brother before the wedding. Suddenly, he realizes that Freddy was behind the attack and that he was working with someone, that someone being John Dixon.
Vargas meets with Dixon in a bonded warehouse, and when Vargas explains what he's heard Dixon's been involved with, the lights go out. The men outside the room are killed, clearing a path for Eddie and Susie to make their way through the warehouse and enter the room. Errol begins pleading to Eddie, but he shoots him twice to silence him. Susie and Vargas excuse themselves, leaving Eddie to speak with Dixon alone. Dixon explains that it was simply an eye for an eye.
Apparently, Freddy's still holding a grudge about the fact that the title and manor should all be his, and Dixon has other delusions about who he works for. Eddie leaves Dixon alone in the room and heads home. Sabrina pleads with Eddie about getting revenge on his brother, but he appears resolute in his decision. After this tense conversation, he pays a visit to Freddy.
They go for a walk, and Eddie wastes no time in confronting Freddy. He begins with a denial, but Eddie beats him. A van drives up in front of them and Eddie holds a gun to his head as his brother begs for his life. Inside the van, Dixon is bound and gagged as a man with a chainsaw stands nearby. Freddy is thrown inside as the chainsaw roars. The van doors open as Freddy stands there covered in blood, holding Dixon's head in his hand. With a scream, he sets a much darker season 3 in motion.
